Title: Growth Marketer
Function: Marketing
Focus: Mid & Bottom Funnel — Conversion and Pipeline Optimization
Role Summary
The Growth Marketer owns conversion and pipeline optimization across the top to bottom of the funnel. The role is responsible for diagnosing funnel performance, running experiments, and applying AI tools to systematically improve how leads move from initial engagement to sales-qualified opportunity to influence pipeline. This role requires 3-5 years of work experience in the same role.
This is a performance-driven role that blends analytical rigor with strategic thinking. The Growth Marketer is expected to identify where the funnel is underperforming, recommend the highest-leverage plays to fix it, and own the copy, creative direction, and execution required to ship those changes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Mid-funnel conversion (lead → SQL). Diagnoses and improves conversion between lead capture and sales-qualified opportunity. Partners with sales on lead scoring, routing, and handoff.
- Bottom-funnel optimization (SQL → pipeline). Improves SQL-to-pipeline conversion through content sequencing, enablement assets, and buyer-journey optimization.
- Email and nurture performance. Owns lifecycle email effectiveness end to end — strategy, segmentation, copy, sequencing, deliverability, reactivation, and nurture-driven conversion.
- Copy and messaging ownership. Writes and iterates on conversion-focused copy across landing pages, forms, emails, and nurture tracks. Translates positioning and audience insight into messaging that converts.
- Funnel analysis and strategic recommendations. Builds and maintains the funnel model. Identifies drop-off points, quantifies revenue impact, and recommends prioritized plays to leadership — not just findings, but what to do about them.
- Continuous testing and iteration. Operates a consistent experimentation cadence. Forms hypotheses, ships tests, measures results, documents learnings, and scales what works.
- Landing page performance and CRO. Owns the conversion rate optimization program across landing pages, forms, and CTAs. Develops the testing hypothesis, writes and iterates on page copy, and runs a continuous A/B and multivariate testing roadmap.
AI Application in the Role
AI fluency is a core competency of this role. The Growth Marketer operates as an AI-native marketer and uses AI to increase speed, leverage, and conversion impact.
- Applies LLMs to accelerate landing page copy, ad variants, and nurture sequence development.
- Uses AI-assisted analysis for funnel reporting, cohort analysis, and anomaly detection.
- Prototypes landing pages, personalization logic, and test variants using AI-native tools.
- Applies AI to lifecycle segmentation, predictive scoring, and next-best-action recommendations.
- Evaluates and operationalizes new AI tools that measurably improve speed, cost, or conversion.
Key Performance Indicators
This role is measured on funnel outcomes and pipeline contribution, not campaign output.
- Marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced pipeline contribution
- Lead-to-SQL conversion rate
- SQL-to-pipeline conversion rate
- Landing page conversion rate, by segment and campaign
- Cost per SQL and cost per pipeline dollar
- Email engagement and nurture-driven conversion
- Experiment velocity and win rate
Key Shift in Focus
This role is distinct from demand generation execution. The Growth Marketer is accountable for using data, strategic judgment, and AI to systematically improve conversion across the funnel. Success is defined by measurable lift in pipeline efficiency — identifying the right plays, writing the copy that converts, and shipping the tests that compound into pipeline impact.
