Be part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to transform the transportation industry for a sustainable future!The Machinist will perform onsite fabrication to support the R&D prototyping work. The role will fabricate and modify parts for components used for gas processing equipment. The fabrication methods for this role will include but not be limited to TIG welding, manual machining, milling, lathe, and CNC. The machinist role will also be in charge of the maintenance of the on-site machines and provide feedback to the design team to improve the manufacturability of the design. Roles and Responsibilities: Manufacturing
  • Perform onsite machining work that includes but is not limited to TIG welding, manual machining, milling, lathe, and CNC
  • Fabricate and modify components to support the Technology team’s needs
  • Maintain fabrication equipment
  • Provide feedback to the design team on the manufacturing process
  • Suggest design improvements to enhance the manufacturability of the component
  • Proofread drawings sent out to fabricators
  • Maintain clean laboratory environment
Product DevelopmentFabricator responsibilities
  • Welding for R&D projects and product development prototypes (TIG welding)
  • Machining / lathing / milling / CNC
  • Assist with assembly and mechanical integration tasks
Mechanical Designer responsibilities
  • Advise engineering team on conventions for fabrication drawings/orders prepared for contract manufacturers
  • Draft and revise mechanical drawings for engineering team
  • Train team on fabrication methods and tool use
Shop Manager responsibilities
  • Plan and maintain organization of mechanical workspace
  • Manage and re-stock hardware inventory
  • Procure new mechanical tools needed for projects
Requirements
  • 5+ years of machine operation experience
  • 5+ years of welding experience
  • 3+ years of experience in machine maintenance
  • Be able to primarily work day shift hours (9am – 5pm) with some potential flexibility to occasionally support work outside those hours
