What You Will Be Doing:
We are looking for an Electrical Laboratory Technician to perform the handling, assembly, and instrumentation of prototype equipment and systems. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to support the preparation and execution of lab experiments for hydrogen generation and purification systems. This is a full-time temporary position with the potential of converting to a full-time role.
Responsibilities:
- Build wire harnesses (including connectors and terminals) through soldering, crimping, and heat shrinking
- Build and assemble electrical control panels with attention to detail
- Connect electrical wiring between process controllers, sensors, and actuators
- Test continuity of electrical connections to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeters and ammeters
- Collaborate effectively with the team to complete assignments and meet production schedules
- Maintain thorough documentation of work performed and measurements collected
- Ensure that laboratory spaces are organized and the support equipment is functional in preparation for experiments
- 3+ years of professional experience as an electrical technician in an industrial or academic laboratory setting
- Relevant experience in one or more of the following fields: oil & gas, power generation, chemical processing, or refrigeration
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (electrical drawings, schematics, P&ID’s, equipment drawings, etc.)
- Familiarity with equipment used in chemical plants such as pressure transducers, gas flow meters, thermocouples, analyzers, programmable controllers, control valves, etc
- Working experience with making electrical harnesses & connectors, and building electrical control panels using terminal blocks, fuses, and relays
- Mechanical experience with installing instrumentation and control elements (thermocouples, pressure transducers, control valves, etc.)
- Experience with testing and troubleshooting electrical systems
- Experience with calibrating sensors and actuators
- Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality
