As a Senior Electrical Engineer II, you will be responsible for performing the handling, assembly, and instrumentation of electrical equipment and systems. This individual should be skilled and experienced in developing, designing, and testing of electrical components, equipment, and systems, building and assembling wire harnesses, connectors, and electrical control panels and junction boxes with attention to detail, connecting electrical wiring between the process controller, sensors, and actuators based on the detailed engineering design drawings.

Reporting to the Manager, Electrical Engineering & Control Software, this individual will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to support the MVD+ (TDU), Houston testing facility, Houston test rooms electrical system build, test, commissioning and maintenance.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support the development, design, and testing of electrical components, equipment, and systems.
  • Build and assemble wire harnesses, connectors, and electrical control panels and Junction Boxes with attention to detail.
  • Connect electrical wiring between the process controller, sensors, and actuators based on the detailed engineering design drawings.
  • Test continuity of electrical connections to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter and amp meter.
  • Collaborate effectively with the team to complete assignments and meet production schedules.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of work performed and measurements collected.
  • Ensure that laboratory spaces are organized, and support equipment is functional in preparation for experiments.

Requirements

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • 5+ years of professional experience as an electrical technician in an industrial or academic laboratory setting.
  • Relevant experience in one or more of the following fields: oil & gas, power generation, chemical processing, or refrigeration.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (electrical drawings, schematics, P&ID’s, equipment drawings, etc.).
  • Being familiar with the equipment used in the chemical plant such as pressure transducers, gas flow meters, thermocouples, an alyzers,
  • programmable controllers, control valves, etc.
  • Working experience with making electrical harnesses & connectors and building electrical control panels and Junction Boxes using terminal blocks, fuses, and relays.
  • Mechanical experience with installing instrumentation and control elements (thermocouples, pressure transducers, control valv es, etc.).
  • Experience with testing and troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Experience with calibrating sensors and actuators
  • Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and techniques of safety precautions and injury prevention programs.
  • Ability to work well with others.
