Your Role

Aperia Technologies Inc, a thriving venture funded automotive company based in the San Francisco Bay Area, is undergoing rapid expansion. To support our ongoing product growth both domestically and internationally, we are seeking to enhance our hardware design engineering presence in Michigan, with potential new locations in Ann Arbor and/or Grand Rapids. As a Mechatronics Engineer you will be responsible for participating in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of mechatronics systems under the guidance of senior engineers.

Your Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and development of mechatronics systems and components by regularly participating in brainstorming sessions with a cross functional engineering team and creating and updating CAD models, schematics and technical drawings, and writing scripts and compiled code.
  • Assist in the assembly and testing of prototypes to validate design concepts under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Design, development, and operation of automated hardware-in-loop test systems to exercise use cases on a daily cadence.
  • Regularly conduct experiments, collect data, and perform analyses to ensure system functionality and performance.
  • Regularly coordinate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical and software engineers, as well as external vendors and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to project documentation, including design files, change logs, and test reports to ensure traceability and ease of troubleshooting issues when needed.
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of mechatronic systems when necessary.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Strong curiosity surrounding mechatronics engineering.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: CAD software, control systems, embedded systems, and PLC programming.
  • Background in robotics, automation, and sensor integration.
  • Emerging proficiency in tools like Altium, Solidworks, MATLAB, and LabVIEW.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Exposure to project management skills with experience in agile methodologies is a plus..
  • Excellent communication skills.

Pay Range: $130,000- $170,000

*Base salary only. Salary dependent on multiple factors including, but not limited to, experience and location.
