About Us:
Arbor is developing a scalable and low-cost approach to Biomass Carbon Removal and Storage (BiCRS) based on modern rocket engine technology. BiCRS is a process that removes CO₂ from the air through biomass and stores it. The team brings together deep experience in turbomachinery, combustion, and manufacturing. Their modular systems combine compact gasification with a supercritical CO₂ turbine, offering feedstock flexibility, high electrical efficiency, and permanent geologic storage.
One year into our journey we: assembled a world-class team of engineers, raised a $12.5M Seed round from top deeptech investors, pre-sold our first 1k tons of carbon removal, and are designing our first demonstration plant that will combust biomass and generate carbon-negative energy.

What You’ll Do:
Design a first-of-a-kind system at the plant level. Work with the R&D team to incorporate core systems: torrefaction, gasification, combustion, and supercritical CO2 power generation into a compact and efficient plant that can be manufactured quickly and at cost. Be the interface with our partners and EPCs to ensure a successful process from invention to deployment.
Who you are:
- At least 8 years of expertise designing and integrating systems such as: combustion, gasification, pyrolysis/torrefaction, power generation, engine systems, turbomachinery , heat exchangers
- Owner of: Balance of Plant, FEED documents, techno-economics, full plant CapEx, technical process development to get plants on the ground quickly
- Partner to the Project Manager, delivering complex systems on budget and on time
- Hands-on engineer having designed and deployed high temperature and high pressure systems
- Excellent at working in a fast-paced and autonomous environment (aka startup)
It would be great if you have:
- 10+ years of experience
- Experience designing complex first-of-a-kind systems
- Experience in a startup or agile development environment
- Built Heat and Mass balance models
- Experienced in fields such as: rocketry, power generation, water or petro-chemical processing (CO2), or similar industries
