ABOUT US:

Astro Mechanica is a vertically integrated aerospace company building a faster, more connected future. Our mission is to democratize high-speed flight by making supersonic travel flexible, accessible, and sustainable. We believe that rapid, on-demand, point-to-point global mobility will become the new standard for moving people and goods across the planet. To achieve this, we are integrating our advanced airframe and engine technologies—which include Duality™, our proprietary dual-use propulsion system—with a new flight operations model to make supersonic transport as efficient and economical as commercial air travel is today. In the near term, we are developing adaptable, high-speed systems to close aircraft performance gaps for the United States government.

WHO WE ARE:

We're a team of hardcore engineers who live and breathe aerospace. We’re generalists who each have subject matter expertise and operate in a flat organizational structure. We move fast and build world-changing technology in a pragmatic and competent workplace culture.

WHO YOU ARE

Astro Mechanica is a fast-growing Series A aerospace company building the operational backbone for scalable growth. We’re looking for a conceptually strong, determined operator who can learn a functional area deeply, improve it systematically, and scale it sustainably.

You’ll start by owning one domain: Finance, Talent, Sales, Operations, Risk/Legal, or Partnerships, and drive it from execution to mastery: learning how it works, diagnosing what great looks like, fixing what’s broken, and designing better systems. Over time, you’ll build teams and structures that make your own role redundant and prepare you to lead broader areas of the company.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Own a functional domain. Take charge of one operational area (Finance, Talent, Sales, Operations, Risk/Legal, or Partnerships) and become the company’s internal expert on how it works.

  • Execute and learn. Get hands-on in the work to understand processes, data, and pain points firsthand.

  • Diagnose and design. Define what “great” looks like, identify problems, and design scalable, elegant solutions that improve performance and clarity.

  • Implement systems and process improvements. Build tools, workflows, and documentation that make your area more efficient, measurable, and repeatable.

  • Scale through others. Hire, train, and develop people who can take over and improve the systems you build.

  • Drive continuous improvement. Reassess your domain periodically, measure impact through data, and keep refining to support company growth.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally. Partner with the COO and other leads to align your domain’s strategy with company-wide objectives.

  • Model operational excellence. Demonstrate ownership, clarity of thought, and a bias for systems-thinking and long-term scalability.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Conceptual thinker with strong analytical and systems-design instincts.

  • Bias toward action, comfortable executing and iterating quickly.

  • Learns fast and thrives in ambiguity; enjoys diagnosing and improving messy systems.

  • Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication.

  • 2–5 years’ experience in operations, strategy, consulting, or a related area.

  • Startup or high-growth experience preferred; aerospace background a plus.

  • Ambition to grow into an operational leadership role.
