BasiGo is an early stage e-mobility start-up looking to revolutionize the public transportation sector by providing matatu owners with a cost effective electric alternative to diesel. To offer the most cost-effective vehicles possible, BasiGo locally assembles state-of-the-art electric buses from CKD kits in partnership with local contract vehicle assemblers in Kenya. BasiGo is looking for an experienced supply chain professional in Thika to help us establish mass production of modern electric vehicles in Kenya. As a key member of our assembly team, the Material Flow and Inventory Supervisor will be integral in helping our assembly processes and systems move and move through the line. They will be responsible for ensuring CKD kit materials are traced through the supply chain at the contract assembly proactively and comprehensively to ensure no stoppages or shortages on the line.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the manufacturing operations team to develop a robust, traceable system for movement of input of kit components from the Central Store, through WIP assembly stations, all the way to end of line
  • Supervise the unloading and unpacking of overseas CKD kits
  • Coordinate with local content suppliers to ensure timely delivery of all locally sourced parts
  • Ensure that a daily line loading plan is prepared and executed by the contract assembler logistics team
  • Design and execution of part binning, labeling, and monitoring system on the assembly line.
  • Coordinate with the head of supply chain around procurement, inventory shortfalls/damage, and missing parts for communication with the OEM for Warranty or claims
  • Oversee the tracking of components and consumables along production line
  • Prepare regular reports on materials and consumables, waste and damage as required by management.
  • Ensure loading and resupply of materials to the line are done in a proactive and timely manner.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills with an ability to document and detail material supply needs, summarize and present reports in a clear and concise manner.
  • 3-5 years progressively responsibility in a similar role
