Better Place Forests is a nonprofit organization dedicated to permanently protecting forest land while guiding meaningful end-of-life experiences deeply rooted in nature.
We’re hiring a Seasonal Site Lead to oversee daily operations at our conservation memorial forest in Drury, MA. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for safe forest operations, compassionate guest experiences, and strong team direction throughout the active season.

Duties
- Lead daily forest operations, including tours, memorial services, and site readiness
- Supervise and coach Forest Hosts to deliver consistent, compassionate experiences
- Oversee onboarding, training, scheduling, and daily team direction
- Maintain trails, facilities, equipment, and overall forest safety
- Monitor forest health and coordinate maintenance needs
- Ensure accurate memorial documentation and operational reporting
- Support local outreach and represent Better Place Forests in the community
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless guest experiences
This role requires balancing physical work, emotional intelligence, and operational leadership in an outdoor setting.
Experience
- Leadership or supervisory experience (hospitality, nonprofit, outdoor, or operations environments preferred)
- Experience leading teams and setting daily priorities
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable facilitating group experiences and speaking publicly
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Comfortable working with cremated remains
- Proficiency with digital tools (Google Workspace, CRM systems, scheduling platforms)
Experience in conservation, hospitality, end-of-life services, or mission-driven organizations is a plus.
Additional Requirements
- Weekend availability required (Friday–Sunday)
- Must be able to reliably commute to Drury, MA
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
- Comfortable working in remote outdoor locations
- CPR Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)

Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 35 per week
