The Materials Management Advisor (Inbound Logistics) partners with our suppliers, business stakeholders, International & Local (M&S) Logistics Service providers and Customs Agents to optimise and continuously improve delivery service.
This role delivers value by developing and implementing Inbound Logistics delivery strategies to optimise physical supply chain.

About the role:
Lead and implement regional inbound logistics strategies across Mauritania and Senegal.
Manage the Inbound Logistics Visibility Centre (ILVC) to focus on region and ensure alignment with business goals.
Oversee performance of logistics service providers and customs agents, ensuring high standards and continuous improvement.
Provide expert guidance on logistics, transportation, and customs operations to internal/external stakeholders and ensure all activity and relevant reporting are aligned with business strategy.
Deploy performance management framework to the region, including Key Performance Indicators, contract management support, managing non-performance, etc.
Support management of key relationships for inbound logistics & stabilize inbound logistics performance and local customs agents’ performance.
Support compliance activities including but not limited to, completing activities as directed by the High-Risk Agent (HRA) Sponsor and participate in audits as directed.
Drive network management and optimization down to individual distribution centre level to achieve the optimal balance service and risk level, operational cost and efficient investment.
Enhance commercial and contracting support for material contracts to improve supplier fulfilment & performance.
Use lean principles to support continuous improvement in the physical supply chain by focusing on clear customer value, utilizing value stream mapping where appropriate, improving the quality of demand signals, creating flow & eliminating waste, and relentlessly striving for perfection.
Manage transition of key contracts whist ensuring continuity of service to the business and effective MoC application
About you:
Essential criteria:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience in international logistics, including customs processes in Mauritania and Senegal.
Proven ability to manage service delivery and performance of contractors and customs agents.
Understanding of the safety risks associated with Logistics and risk mitigation activities.
Strong collaboration and influencing skills across diverse teams and geographies, across organizational boundaries and levels within BP, with external suppliers and local authorities where appropriate
Working knowledge of systems such as SAP and software tools.
Willingness and ability to travel to Senegal as needed.
Proficient level of English language

Strong business acumen with a focus on delivering measurable value.
Experience in at least one progressive material-led supply chain industries
