Job Description:

As a Project Manager at bp, you will drive the successful planning, execution, and delivery of technology products, platforms, and services. Using a mix of structured methodologies—including Agile—you’ll ensure that each initiative aligns with bp’s strategic goals. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a talent for aligning stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.

You will work as a member of a high-energy, top-performing team of engineers, working alongside technology leaders to shape the vision and drive the execution of ground-breaking compute and data platforms that make a real impact.

What You’ll Deliver

Project and Program Management

• Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resources, and delivery roadmaps.
• Apply appropriate delivery methodologies to ensure projects meet time, cost, and quality expectations.
• Coordinate efforts across teams to align project goals with bp’s strategic priorities.

Agile Delivery Oversight

• Operate within Agile frameworks, helping teams align project milestones with iterative sprint cycles.
• Monitor progress, resolve cross-team dependencies, and ensure value is delivered continuously.
• Foster collaboration and Agile maturity across teams and departments.

Risk and Change Management

• Proactively identify and manage risks and issues that could impact delivery.
• Adapt plans as needed to accommodate change, while keeping project objectives on track.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, technical teams, and external partners.
• Serve as a central communication hub, ensuring clarity of goals, roles, and expectations across the project lifecycle.

Continuous Improvement

• Lead efforts to improve project delivery practices through standardization and process optimization.
• Drive a culture of continuous learning, promoting delivery excellence and improved outcomes.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Core Skills and Competencies

• Strong communicator, able to clearly explain complex ideas and project updates to diverse audiences.
• Effective problem-solver with a strategic mindset and data-informed decision-making approach.
• Skilled in motivating and coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Able to manage multiple tasks with general supervision and prioritize effectively.
• Developing strengths in stakeholder management and systems thinking.
• Growing experience with Agile delivery practices and team coordination.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in project management or a related field.
• Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet, or Azure DevOps (ADO).
• Foundational understanding of Agile methodologies and delivery frameworks.
