The ARC Manager provides leadership in financial governance, control oversight, and statutory compliance across the OB&C segment. This role is pivotal in ensuring effective design, implementation, and operation of internal controls and related processes that are aligned with both Group requirements and segment-specific needs. The position partners closely with senior segment leadership, the ARC VP, and internal and external assurance stakeholders to deliver high-quality control stewardship, audit readiness, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Governance & Control Design
- Support the design and development of segment-specific control processes, policies, and tools where variation from Group frameworks is required.
- Provide advice on emerging control gaps, including performing impact assessments, root cause analysis, and development of remediation plans.
- Deliver Senior ARC Holder responsibilities, with a focus on financial governance, compliance, and performance management.
- Support implementation of segment-level policy and monitor compliance, including performing control analytics.
- Identify and assess financial reporting risks linked to new projects and process changes; guide control owners in performing their responsibilities effectively.
Control Operations & Assurance
- Operate agreed Group and segment-level control processes, including the quarterly Due Diligence (DD) program and related assurance activities.
- Lead and present DD review outcomes to segment leadership, including SVP OB&C.
- Perform assurance reviews and provide independent challenge on the efficiency of business control operations.
- Lead functional assurance meetings across OB&C and provide clear, practical control advice to stakeholders, including during periods of business change (e.g. acquisitions).
- Provide ARC support across OB&C functions and present control findings to governance forums.
Statutory & Segment Reporting Support
- Support statutory accounts delivery by reviewing lead schedules, director briefings, and financial statements for OB&C legal entities.
- Review and approve segment-level adjustments and contribute to consolidated commentary.
- Liaise with auditors on OB&C segment matters and in-scope areas.
Governance & Delegated Authority
- Act as CFO delegate to approve expedited and non-standard payments through MyPayments and the PE Tool.
- Handle Delegation of Authority (DoA) lines and serve as DoA controller for key functions (Technology, Company Secretariat, CEO and CFO).
- Provide stewardship over OB&C segment compliance with Senior ARC policy requirements and governance obligations.
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong, proactive relationships with business partners and finance teams across the segment.
- Provide clear, practical mentorship on control implications of operational and strategic decisions.
- Challenge constructively and influence senior stakeholders in a collaborative and solutions-oriented manner.
Required Qualifications:
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ICAEW or equivalent).
- Minimum 12-15 years of experience in finance, audit, or risk and control roles.
- Strong technical expertise in internal controls, SOx, statutory reporting, and assurance frameworks.
- Shown ability to work across functions and interface effectively with senior leadership and auditors.
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with strong influencing and presentation capabilities.
- Shown ability to handle ambiguity and drive resolution of complex issues.
- Familiarity with finance systems, control monitoring tools, and risk assessment methodologies.
