Role Synopsis:
As a Senior Analyst Credit Data & Analytic you will become an active member of the extended global Credit team within bp’s Supply, Trading & Shipping business. Your key focus will be to develop and manage reporting tools, data, and quantitative models. You will also be at the cutting edge of data exploration activities in order to help drive efficiencies via automated tools, provide valuable insights as well as tackle business problems using data.
Key Accountabilities:
Specific accountabilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Manage, optimize and maintain ownership of core credit reporting processes, documentation and tools with the aim to deliver timely, accurate and insightful data to senior management, risk management, regulators, treasury, accounting teams.
- Contribute to the development of current and new Credit MI, metrics, dashboards and decision tools in order to gain accurate and timely insight into bp’s Credit Risk drivers.
- Develop strong understanding of bp Credit Risk frameworks, quantitative approach, and risk metrics as well as acquire strong commercial awareness.
- Support various technology and systems initiatives, including automation, data integrity and data integration.
- Create, implement, and support credit risk quantitative models leveraging mathematical and computer science methods and tools including Python , SQL, PowerBI, mathematical finance, and statistics and probability
- Maintain clear and coherent communication, both verbal and written, to understand data needs and communicate report results.
- Remain up to date with the latest technology, techniques and methods.
- Stay curious and enthusiastic about exploring new risk modelling concepts, algorithms and data exploration methods to solve problems and enthuse others to see the benefit of your work.
Essential Experience & Job Requirements
- Prior experience in financial risk management in a quantitative role.
- Knowledge of exposure modelling, Probability of Default (PD) / Loss Given Default (LGD) / Exposure at Default (EAD)
- Experience in Python, SQL, PowerBI
- Effective listening skills in order to understand business requirements.
- Team-working skills and a collaborative approach to sharing ideas and finding solutions.
- Drive and resilience to try new ideas if the first one doesn't work.
- Comfort working with ambiguity, framing and solving problems in an iterative manner.
- Ability to deliver effectively against BP’s values and expectations against near and long-term objectives.
- Positive attitude and curious mind.
Essential Education:
- Strong academic background including at least a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a quantitative field (Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics preferred).
Desirable Experience & Qualifications:
- Prior exposure to energy commodity trading in credit risk/quant roles for a number of years.
- Demonstrated ability to able to interpret complex business scenarios and produce accurate analysis and MI/Data solutions under pressure.
- Experience with using Dataiku or DataBricks platforms.
- Prior experience with risk reporting, including accounting and regulatory requirements.
