Role Synopsis
The Department of Transportation (DOT) Compliance Coordinator will collaborate with BP field operations and Federal/State pipeline safety regulators in playing a key role in delivering DOT pipeline safety regulatory support while conducting audits on operated pipeline systems. As the DOT Compliance Coordinator you will work with the BP Terminals and Pipelines (T&P) DOT Compliance Team and field operations in completing compliance assurance activities as well as seeking improvements and simplification to current processes.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensuring T&P personnel are aware of applicable DOT PHMSA or State pipeline safety requirements
- Acting as compliance authority/subject matter expert for assets supported, providing assurance to Operations
- Responsible for supporting interactions with Federal/State pipeline safety regulators to schedule and perform audits, liaising with agents through all aspects of audit and follow up
- Conducting assurance audits of the existing systems using BP resources effectively
- Coordinating the compilation and submittal of all required annual Federal and State pipeline safety reports as well as event driven reporting for supported assets
- Providing guidance in the tracking and documentation of incident investigations and root cause analysis to ensure recordkeeping is aligned and consistent
- Coordinating the annual review of the Operations, Maintenance and Emergency Response (OMER) Book I activities, document edits and MOCs
- Assisting in monitoring regulatory changes
- Overseeing and maintaining DOT Compliance Team electronic records
- Responsibly for managing bp T&P’s physical security program:
- Working with bp Security and contractor to manage compliance with company and TSA requirements
- Owner of relationship with Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) on physical security
- Ownership of T&P physical security plans
Essential Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of pipeline operations or pipeline engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous pipeline operations technician, team leader and/or pipeline engineering experience
- Previous DOT pipeline safety regulatory experience
- College degree

How much do we pay (Base)? 96-137K *Note that the pay range listed for this position is a genuinely expected and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting. This position is eligible for Core U.S. Benefits SPD. This position offers paid vacation depending on your years of relevant industry experience and will range from 120 – 240 hours of vacation per year for full time employees (60 - 240 hours of vacation per year for part time employees). You will also be eligible for 9 paid holidays per year and 2 personal choice holidays.
