Let me tell you about the role
The Damage Prevention Dispatcher is integral to processing state one-call tickets for excavation work and managing emergency phone calls. This role involves close collaboration with Damage Prevention Technicians across all states where our pipelines are located, ensuring timely attention to excavation requests. Responsibilities include tracking aerial patrol pilots, documenting observation reports, conducting daily ticket audits, and performing internal assurance audits. The One Call Dispatchers operate out of the Tulsa Control Center in Tulsa, OK. The successful candidate must be available to work a rotating day shift schedule.
The dispatchers work in close coordination with the Damage Prevention Program Manager, the Public Awareness Coordinator, third-party Aerial Patrol Pilots, and Control Center Shift Leaders and will report to the Stakeholder Engagement & damage Prevention Team Leader.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support and promote a safe work environment.
- Provide phone coverage for emergency 1-800 calls.
- Manage phone requests from contractors and property owners seeking information.
- Process and document state one call tickets related to excavation activities near BP pipelines and BP Affiliates assets (BPX).
- Collaborate with Damage Prevention Specialists at Terminals and Pipelines and BP Affiliates to ensure timely responses to excavation requests within regulatory compliance.
- Track aerial patrols, document observation reports, and maintain patrol compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with co-workers to ensure timely responses to emergency tickets from state one call centers.
- Assist the Damage Prevention Program Manager in conducting random ticket audits, researching problem tickets with state one call centers, and enhancing one call ticket processing tools.
- Use software mapping packages to update maps for assigned geographic areas.
- Manage external requests for information.
- Provide backup and relief support for co-workers.
- Work rotating schedules: 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, and 9am-5pm (Monday to Friday).
- Use various software data management tools (Utilisphere ticket management system, Trailblazer Mapping system, Google maps, Microsoft Teams, Windows 365).
- Aim to enhance work processes and overall efficiency.
- Receive deliveries and greet visitors at the Control center as needed
Essential Experience:
- The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Must possess a proactive attitude.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Possesses exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multi-task efficiently.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in maintaining reliable phone coverage.
- Proficiency in using software mapping applications.
