Job Description:

Role Synopsis

bpx is a recognized leader in electrification across the Permian Basin. We own and operate a private electric utility—our Private Use Network (PUN)—that powers well sites and facilities spanning over 1,600 square miles. With a bold vision to electrify 100% of new well pads using grid power, we are expanding and enhancing our distribution system to meet future demands.

We are seeking a Power Infrastructure Program Manager to lead the planning and execution of multiple high-impact projects across the electrical value chain—generation, transmission, and distribution. This role is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of approximately $60 million in annual midstream projects, with an additional $10–$20 million in cross-functional initiatives, plus oversight of large-scale, multi-year capital projects.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and manage a team of bpx and contract project managers and support staff.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and forecasts.
  • Oversee engineering design teams to produce detailed plans and specifications for construction.
  • Manage contractor relationships and ensure high-quality execution in the field.
  • Conduct and approve quality assurance reviews of installations.
  • Coordinate material logistics to ensure timely availability for all projects.
  • Drive the Power Infrastructure Management of Change (MoC) process.
  • Support the development and maintenance of design and quality assurance standards.
  • Contribute to electrical system commissioning and hazard reviews.
  • Collaborate with the trading team on load forecasting and ERCOT-related reviews.
  • Support regulatory permitting processes.
  • Perform LV and MV power system design as needed.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause failure analyses.
  • Promote and enforce electrical and construction safety standards through regular field audits.

Essential Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as an electrical engineer or in a related role.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of program management experience overseeing multiple concurrent projects.
  • At least 3 years of experience in oil and gas facilities (preferred).
  • Proven experience managing teams and delivering complex infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with Procore (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of area classification requirements and electrical system design.
  • Experience with power system tools such as ETAP or SKM (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with electrical system installation and commissioning.
  • Willingness to travel and stay on-site as needed to ensure project success.

How much do we pay (Base) $196,000-$241,000. Note that the pay range listed for this position is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.
