Job Description:
The Business Manager is responsible for managing a team to support the delivery of a wide range of business activities, supporting the development and delivery of the relevant strategy, plans and performance, advancing the agenda by working closely with the Functions, providing business oversight and operational assurance, and ensuring that standards, policies and procedures are fit for purpose and working effectively.
This role will be directly supporting the Head of Country and Regional Director of Finance, Business and Technology (FBT) Malaysia in the leadership and governance of a Malaysia and the FBT organisation of 1,800 employees.
Key Responsibilities
- The Business Manager provides cohesion between the functional agendas and the overarching FBT and Country agenda, for townhalls, communications and meetings.
- The Business Manager provides oversight to the execution of FBT Malaysia and bp Malaysia priorities working with and supporting the FBT Malaysia LT and bp Malaysia leaders as required.
- Owns the creation and documentation of the frameworks within which we operate in, such as the governance and assurance protocols and standards.
- Leads the business support team to ensure the country activities are well resourced and completed.
- Supports the Regional Director of FBT Malaysia and Head of Country in developing documentation and tools.
- Manages external insights through the relationships with key external partners whilst working closely with external communications.
- Able to work on multiple conflicting priorities under time pressure.
- Clearly communicate in a time efficient way to support decision making.
- Identify trends and issues that require investigation and intervention.
- Drive process simplification and standardisation across a network of global centres through trust and influence rather than by use of direct authority.
- Able to articulate and communicate key messaging in a complex and changing environment.
- Influence and engagement across a diverse group of global partners.
Essential Education, Experience And Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification / experience.
- Ability to think strategically and articulate an overall strategy from multiple complex inputs.
- Experience in senior partner management and developing messaging for these partners, able to build credibility and relationships through well-developed inter-personal and communication skills.
- Strong relationship building and communication skills.
- Ability to clearly see the big picture and create new ways to help others understand complex situations or problems; create new insights from a wide range of information.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and an attention to detail.
- Organised and methodical, able to juggle competing demands whilst retaining attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workload to meet objectives\milestones and demonstrate resourcefulness when dealing with challenges and obstacles to delivery.
- Resilience to stick at problems and underpin change in a sustainable way.
