Purpose of the role

The ANZ Pricing team partners with the B2C and B2B sales and operations teams to deliver sustainable, strategic pricing solutions that support long-term growth and value creation across the supply chain and retail network.

As Retail Pricing Advisor NZ, you will be responsible for implementing fuel pricing and driving performance across bp’s national retail network in New Zealand. The role involves close collaboration with retail operations teams to build site performance and customer insights and working as part of cross-functional teams including Retail Convenience, Marketing, and Supply. You will also provide coverage for other team members across ANZ as needed, including weekend cover.

Key Accountabilities

  • Daily review of pricing and performance for retail sites, including monitoring site volume and margin in relation to price changes. Identify opportunities to adjust pricing strategies as required.

  • Work with data teams to develop pricing tools, measure and present results.

  • Build strong relationships with Retail Business Managers and Marketing teams to develop market insights and provide analysis to inform broader business decisions.

  • Work with ANZ B2C Pricing team members to share knowledge, ideas, and establish best practice. Provide pricing cover across ANZ, including weekend cover per Pricing Team weekend roster.

  • Participation in global pricing forums & projects where required, implementing learnings from other markets to ANZ.

  • Adopt systematic pricing processes in aid of error free pricing

  • Ensure all pricing decisions are in compliance with bp pricing protocols, delegations, and relevant regulatory obligations.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • University degree, 4+ years’ experience in relevant fields, fuel industry favorable but not essential

  • Ability to use commercial acumen & make decisions to implement value driven initiatives.

  • Ability to draw insights and action from data.

  • Strong skills in developing complex models and visualisations in Excel and Power BI advantageous

  • Strong networker and team player, able to build working relationships across teams through a strong collaboration approach

  • Strong communication and influencing skills with all levels of the organisation and between technical and business users.

  • Strong drive for results
