About Blumen

Blumen is building software to streamline permitting, compliance, and regulatory hurdles for project developers and EPC companies powering renewables and infrastructure development int he US.

Initial traction for our permitting platform is very high, and we are pursuing many downstream opportunities as we perfect the platform. We’re looking for motivated players to continue to build our world-class platform and help developers breeze through the regulatory process, soup to nuts.

What we're looking for

As a Product Designer you will work directly with the Head of Product and own the customer platform, company website, and marketing materials. You will have the opportunity to be a critical contributor to a first-of-its-kind system enabling the energy transition at scale and solve challenging UX/UI problems in the process.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end design. You'll help define early product concepts, flesh out the high-level workflow and micro-interactions of a feature, and execute on a crisp and effective visual design. Wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, and high fidelity prototypes

  • Rapid prototyping. Ability to move quickly from lo-fi to high-fi and back again. Ideally, we test every assumption and only build a subset of our designs. Great prototypes will drive product discovery.

  • Engineering partner. Work closely with product and forward deployed engineers to ensure designs seamlessly integrate with our engineering process.

Qualifications

  • 3-7 years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design. Knowledge of Figma and user experience analytics software.

  • Deep empathy for users and a passion for creating delightful experiences for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Flexible and iterative

  • Systems thinker with a proactive approach to problem solving

  • Personable and excited to work closely with customers in natural resources industries

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous design experience with enterprise software that incorporates mapping functionality

  • Demonstrated interest in energy development, land use, mineral exploration or similar topics

  • Past experience with government data sources (BLM, EPA, USFS, DOE, NOAA, BOEM, etc.)

  • Taste for adventure

Why join us?

  • Opportunity to own the product design as our first full-time designer

  • Unlimited PTO and 11 paid holidays

  • Full health coverage (medical, dental, and vision)

  • Daily office provided lunches and dinners

  • Remote/hybrid-friendly work environment

  • Paid parental leave

  • 24/7 office access at our beautiful Jackson Square, San Francisco

Our values

  1. Put yourself in the customer’s shoes. We care deeply about serving our customers above all else.

  2. No job is too small. Details matter, even if nobody will ever see them.

  3. Every problem is an opportunity. Any solution that is clever, difficult to reproduce, or takes serious guts is an opportunity to widen our moat.

  4. Own the problem. Not your solution. Best idea wins.

  5. It doesn’t get easier. We just get faster. There is no finish line. Every day is a step toward compounding success. This is a marathon toward excellence.
