Position Summary:

Bentley is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join our Software Development Team. You will develop, code review, test, and maintain new and existing features within Bentley Infrastructure Cloud. The role involves working closely within the Brisbane based product development squad. Brisbane serves as Bentley’s Centre of Excellence for Construction

At Bentley Systems, we serve a global community of designers, constructors, and operators of critical infrastructure. Your work will be instrumental in delivering a top-notch user experience to an industry responsible for creating and maintaining our physical built environment.

This is a junior/graduate level position.

Responsibilities:

  • Helping design, develop, test and maintain features within Bentley Infrastructure Cloud (frontend web and backend micro-services).
  • Implementing solutions using the most appropriate methods, tools, and languages (C#, React, Kubernetes).
  • Engaging with colleagues to ensure what is being built will meet our users’ needs. You are expected to ask questions and challenge decisions to ensure quality.
  • Writing clear, maintainable, testable, efficient, and secure code.
  • Taking part in project and code reviews.
  • Adhering to best practices within the team.
  • Supporting and maintaining existing solutions.
  • Assisting in the production of estimates and informing of progress.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Diploma from TAFE or an equivalent accredited vocational training institution in software development
  • 0-1 years of experience in software development using C#, .NET, Java, Ruby, or similar object-oriented programming languages
  • Familiarity with automated testing techniques and software quality practices
  • Web frameworks/libraries (.NET Core, React)
  • Web based client/server architectures.
  • Knowledge of how to develop secure web-based applications.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Additional Desired Skills:

  • Experience with React and modern front-end development practices
  • Agile development experience and test-driven development
  • Web Services / RESTful services
  • Relational database design and SQL (PostgreSQL)
  • Source control using Git
