Boston Metal is commercializing cutting edge extractive metallurgy technology that will revolutionize primary metals production, while decreasing cost and lowering environmental impact. This fast-paced startup company is looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our growing Project Management Office team.
Reporting to the Cyber Security Manager, this position will play a critical role in safeguarding Boston Metal's information systems and data. You will interact with various departments and listen to their technical needs to implement IT solutions to resolve issues.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive security assessments to identify vulnerabilities in systems and networks.
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Perform regular security audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement security solutions.
- Investigate security incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and provide incident response support.
- Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends to proactively address potential risks.
- Evaluate and recommend security technologies to enhance the organization's defense mechanisms.
- Participate in the development and execution of security awareness training programs for employees.
- Produce and enforce Cybersecurity Policies
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) AND minimum of 2 yrs of relevant IT experience
- Proven experience in implementing and managing SIEM and Credential Vault solutions.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, privileged access management, and identity and access management (IAM).
- Strong collaboration, teamwork and relationship building skills across multiple levels and functions in the organization.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Skilled at conflict resolution and problem-solving to achieve desired outcomes.
- Ability to influence and motivate others using personal rather than positional power.
Desired Experience & Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
- Strong knowledge of IAM concepts and tools like Okta, LDAP, or Active Directory.
- Familiarity with various security tools such as firewalls, endpoint detection and response (EDR), DLP systems, HVA solutions, and anti-virus/anti-malware software.
- Industry-recognized certifications like CISSP, CISM, CEH, or GIAC.
- Analytical mindset to identify security issues and craft strategic solutions.

You will be working in a small team environment where teamwork and good relationships with other team members is critical. We operate pilot plants and labs and many of our staff members are required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and you should be prepared to do so as well when necessary.
