C.Scale is predictive SaaS enabling zero carbon building at scale. Our lightweight AI and ML models democratize access to data around carbon mitigation strategies without the high cost of expert consulting or full-time salaried experts. When highly detailed energy modeling and life cycle assessment aren't affordable or practicable, teams use C.Scale. C.Scale is the data model behind our open access and free Early-Phase Integrated Carbon Assessment tool (EPIC), currently helping 4,000+ users aim for carbon neutrality in their buildings, and available for all at epic.ehdd.com. We developed EPIC internally at the architecture firm EHDD to solve a problem that we had as we moved away from net zero energy design towards zero carbon design. There were no tools available to get us beyond intuition in weighing embodied and operational carbon decisions early in the design process. EPIC solved that problem so well that we decided to share it freely with the world in order to increase the speed and scale of climate impact the tool could have. C.Scale enables the full range of actors in the built environment low-friction access to data and insights in an intuitive and welcoming user interface. In this way, we are democratizing access to data and expertise. Currently, only design firms and owners willing and able to invest the time and money into custom consulting or detailed analysis are able to integrate data-driven insights into their work. Climate action should not and cannot be the domain of the few if we are to meet our climate action targets.
