About the Role and Team
Our Capture Manager leads end-to-end capture efforts, aligning opportunities with corporate growth goals and market priorities. This role is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and shaping opportunities through strategic customer engagement, competitive analysis, and solution development. Collaborating closely with business development, technical teams, and partners, the Capture Manager formulates win strategies and ensures smooth transitions to proposal development across government and global solutions.
You will oversee and guide a subcontracted capture consulting team, ensuring alignment and effectiveness in securing strategic aerospace solutions contracts.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead capture planning, strategy formulation, and execution for major government and international aerospace opportunities.
- Oversee the development of compelling, compliant, and winning proposals in response to complex RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.
- Manage proposal timelines, ensuring efficient coordination of technical, financial, and administrative elements.
- Direct and collaborate closely with subcontracted capture teams, providing clear guidance and oversight.
- Ensure strategic alignment of proposal content with customer needs, highlighting our differentiators and value propositions.
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies and international stakeholders to enhance business opportunities.
- Conduct market and competitive analysis to inform proposal and capture strategies.
- Drive internal coordination across engineering, finance, legal, and executive teams throughout the capture and proposal lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI Security Clearance (mandatory).
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Aerospace Engineering, Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience managing capture efforts and writing proposals, specifically for government and aerospace contracts.
- Proven track record in winning large-scale, complex government and international aerospace solutions opportunities.
- Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors or external proposal teams.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proposal development skills.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities.
- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Capella Employees must be a U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce, as applicable. Preferred Qualifications
- Certification or specialized training in proposal and capture management (e.g., APMP).
- Experience with international aerospace and defense contracting practices.
- Familiarity with FAR/DFARS regulations and government procurement processes.
Compensation
The annual salary range for this role as it is posted is $161,500 - $242,000. The final job level and annual salary will be determined based on the education, qualification, knowledge, skills, ability, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location and calibrated against relevant market data and internal team equity.
