What You Will Do
As the VP of Engineering for brine/water Processing at Capture6, you will play a pivotal role in driving our mission to tackle climate change by spearheading the development and deployment of advanced water treatment and carbon capture technologies. Your expertise in treating various brines for chemical processing and water recovery would be instrumental in enabling us implement our technology across multiple clients. This position demands extensive expertise in brine/water processes such as Reverse Osmosis, Nano Filtration, Ion Exchange, along with a solid understanding of technologies such as Forward Osmosis, Electrodialysis, Membrane Distillation, Counter Flow Reverse Osmosis. You will need to excel in systems design and optimization to effectively configure Capture6’s comprehensive process, which spans water treatment, carbon capture, and electrochemical synthesis, tailored to meet client requirements. Candidates must have experience with deploying these technologies at client sites. We are looking for an innovative leader who can propel the expansion of our technology across various industries. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead a talented team of engineers and project managers in designing, developing, and implementing brine transformation systems for our projects.
- Implement Capture6's brine transformation, water processing, and transformation of brine to carbonates both in the US and globally.
- Oversee EPCs, vendors, and clients throughout the FEED, construction, installation, and commissioning phases of Capture6 facilities.
- Lead the systems design and optimization of Capture6’s entire process including, water treatment, electrochemical systems, and carbon capture processes, tailored to client needs.
- Identify and execute improvements for the brine treatment processes in ongoing projects.
- Research, design, and develop scalable production processes from pilot stages to large-scale system designs.
- Create a strategic plan for new developments and innovations that align with company goals for cost reduction and performance enhancement.
- Work with internal engineering teams and external vendors to achieve and surpass customer performance metrics.
- Design models, conduct tests to validate hypotheses, and analyze data to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
- Develop and implement system controls, process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Perform process modeling and energy efficiency analyses across various designs and applications.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering or a related field. Demonstrated success in senior engineering and customer success roles with a minimum of 15 years of experience.
- Prior people management experience. Able to manage a team of engineers, and manage cross functional relationships in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Previous experience in deploying commercial treatment solutions for different water brines, including seawater brine, brackish water brine, produced water brine, and geothermal brine, among others.
- Extensive experience with water treatment processes in research, development, or customer support. Experience in electrochemical separation, gas-liquid absorption, reaction design, and fluid dynamics is advantageous.
- Proven track record in systems design and optimization, with experience configuring complex processes for diverse applications.
- Proven success in developing and implementing product development and process improvement strategies that drive business results.
- Proven ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences and business concepts to technical audiences.
- Proficient in navigating ambiguity and managing shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated success in collaborative work across diverse teams, stakeholders, and external partners. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Self-motivated and adaptable, with effective communication skills across different time zones.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Passionate about addressing the climate crisis.
- Experience with Aspen Plus, or similar chemical process modeling technology.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.

The salary range presented for this full-time role is $150,000 – $200,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, years of experience, and location. The range represents the minimum and maximum potential salaries for new hires in this particular position. Within this range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Please note that the compensation details for this role reflect the cash compensation only and do not include equity or other benefits.
