Position Scope
The Drafter will create paperspace drawings and 3D models for projects being installed at Carbon Engineering’s Innovation Center in Squamish, BC. Specifically, the Drafter will work closely with engineers to put design concepts onto paper and 3D models so that they can be implemented in the field. Carbon Engineering is continuously iterating and innovating on our technology and as part of the design team the Drafter will work on drawings and designs for all aspects of a chemical plant including process drawings, piping isometrics, electrical drawings, layouts, elevations, and equipment arrangements.
This position requires the candidate to be onsite at our Innovation Centre based in Squamish, BC at least two days per week. There is flexibility to WFH three days per week based on business needs. CE offers a flexible work schedule to promote a work-life balance.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of 2D drawings including BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, Site Plans, Layouts, Piping Isometrics, Single Line diagrams, Loop drawings, Wiring diagrams, Equipment/Instrument installation details.
- Preparation of 3D models of equipment arrangements, piping systems.
- Prepare record drawings based on field red-line markups.
- Manage time and workload according to project and design team requirements.
- Ability to work with multi-disciplinary engineering teams including Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls.
- Ensure all drawings and drafting deliverables are prepared in accordance with industry best practices and Carbon Engineering standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- Degree, Diploma, or Certification from an accredited institution in Technical Drawing
Experience:
- 4 to 8 years relevant work experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office software
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor and SmartPlant is an asset
Offers and Benefits
Carbon Engineering offers a competitive compensation package including extended health benefits. Base Salary for an Intermediate level role is $58,905 to $88,000 with additional bonus pay.
