Position Summary

The Supervisor, Utility Services plays a pivotal operational and leadership role supporting the delivery of Celerity and Clear Path’s utility programs across electric, gas, and water sectors. This position bridges the gap between project execution and leadership—coordinating field and technical staff, ensuring quality control, monitoring project performance, and maintaining close communication with clients and internal leadership.

The Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day oversight of project teams, implementation of company procedures, and ensuring all work meets client specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate combines strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a results-oriented mindset and a deep understanding of utility operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Oversight & Delivery
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities for assigned utility projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with Project Managers, clients, and field teams to ensure alignment and timely resolution of issues.
  • Monitor deliverables for accuracy and completeness, including field data, inspection reports, GIS updates, and QA/QC documentation.
  • Support project startup, scheduling, work planning, and field logistics to ensure efficient execution.
  • Track and report project progress through standardized dashboards and management tools.
  1. Client & Stakeholder Communication
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for operational questions from clients and contractors.
  • Participate in client meetings, site visits, and progress reviews to ensure expectations are met.
  • Support preparation of client reports, presentations, and status updates.
  • Escalate performance or compliance concerns promptly to senior management.
  1. Team Leadership & Development
  • Directly supervise project coordinators, inspectors, or technical analysts assigned to active projects.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to ensure staff meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Foster a collaborative, safety-conscious, and solutions-focused team culture.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and client-specific work standards.
  1. Operational Excellence & Compliance
  • Enforce QA/QC procedures, field data collection standards, and documentation practices.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (HR, Finance, and Safety) on staffing, reporting, and resource allocation.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within daily operations.
  1. Operational Stewardship
  • Promote a zero-incident safety culture through proactive field audits, job hazard analyses, and training reinforcement.
  • Ensure all work complies with OSHA, ANSI, and client-specific safety and environmental standards.
  • Report and track any incidents or near misses, supporting corrective actions and lessons learned.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience accepted.
  • Experience:
    • 5–8 years of experience in the utility, engineering, or consulting industry.
    • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity managing field or technical personnel.
    • Proven record of successful project delivery, team management, and client support.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to coordinate across internal and external teams.
    • Working knowledge of utility operations (electric, gas, or water) and applicable regulatory standards (e.g., NERC, PHMSA, state commissions).
    • Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, and project management tools; familiarity with ESRI GIS or asset data systems a plus.
    • Sound judgment, accountability, and commitment to continuous improvement.

The salary range for this position is provided in good faith and is subject to variation based on geographic location, candidate experience, and market conditions. Final compensation will be determined after a comprehensive evaluation of the candidate’s qualifications and alignment with the role.
