Job Description
The Coordinator of Research and Evaluation will support CAF’s Research & Evaluation team data collection, management, analysis, and reporting, aiming to improve organizational efficiency and evaluate program outcomes. Specifically, the role will provide data management support for two of CAF’s largest programs: CA Healthy School Food Pathway and FDA/NIH (U.S. Food and Drug Administration/National Institutes of Health) research on contaminants in school meals. The Coordinator will lead implementation and refinement of tracking systems and organizational structure for data collection with CAF programs for both internal and external use, leveraging Google Sheets, Airtable, and Qualtrics. These responsibilities will in turn support the Senior Director of Research and Evaluation with data collection, mixed methods analysis, reporting, and dissemination of evaluation findings through summary reports, peer-reviewed manuscripts, conference presentations, and funder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Organizes relevant literature on scratch cooking in schools in a research management catalog and summarizes key takeaways to inform program evaluation priorities;
- Manages data tracking systems across CAF programs for both internal and external use, with oversight from Senior Coordinator, Research & Evaluation, including but not limited to:
- Scratch Cooking Worksheet
- Technical Assistance
- Tracker Participant Surveys;
- Collaborates with the Research & Evaluation Team to ensure that quarterly/annual reports are informed by accurate and reliable program data;
- Assists with the development of data dashboards to support continuous program improvement with real-time data;
- Creates feedback surveys when requested by the Programs Team and coordinates with the Senior Coordinator to summarize key takeaways;
- Works on special projects;
And, other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma;
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in/with data cleaning and management with large-scale databases;
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and G Suite platforms, especially on Mac OS. Experience preferred in Salesforce, Zoom, and Adobe;
- Ability to work virtually.
Preferred Education, Formal Training, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Food Systems, Program Evaluation, or related fields;
- Demonstrated work experience with data management systems using spreadsheets (e.g. Google Sheets, Excel);
- Demonstrated work experience with basic data cleaning and statistical analysis (e.g. descriptive statistics, record tracking, etc.);
- Demonstrated work experience with program evaluation, including application of findings to support programmatic improvement;
- Demonstrated work experience with online survey platforms (e.g. SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics), including creation, administration, and data cleaning;
- Demonstrated work experience with managing data dashboards in online programs (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Airtable, etc.).

Compensation
Compensation ranges between $48,825 - $62,640 per year and will be commensurate with the candidate’s previous experience and credentials. The Chef Ann Foundation is a great place to work. This position is remote and can be based anywhere in the continental U.S.

*This position, and any continued employment thereafter, is expressly contingent upon the availability of funding for the position. CAF's obligation to employ and compensate is conditioned on:
(a) the organization’s receipt of sufficient budgeted funds for the position for the applicable fiscal period and
(b) Ongoing approval of such funding by the organization in its discretion, consistent with applicable law. If, after employment begins, funding for the position is reduced, not renewed, or otherwise becomes unavailable, CAF may terminate employment effective on the later of
(i) the date funding ceases or (ii) after providing at least 60 days' advance written notice, subject to any additional obligations under applicable law.
