Position Description
We are seeking a high-performing, analytically-minded problem solver to join CivilGrid as an Analyst. This is a fast-paced, high-impact role where you'll wear multiple hats—working across data engineering, business analysis, operations, and product. You'll tackle ambiguous problems, build scalable solutions, and directly contribute to company growth. This position is hybrid with in-person work Philadelphia, PA 1-2 days/week, in addition to occasional travel for team off-sites and client visits. Competitive compensation based on experience.

Primary Functions:
- Build and maintain data pipelines, automation scripts, and analytical tools to support business operations
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights that drive decision-making
- Create dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for internal stakeholders and leadership
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and operations to solve high-priority business problems
- Own projects end-to-end with minimal supervision—from scoping to execution to presentation
- Identify process inefficiencies and build solutions that scale
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Engineering, CS, Econ, Physics, Math, etc.) from a top-tier university
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar programming languages
- Demonstrated experience with data analysis, visualization, and statistical methods
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to structure ambiguous problems
- Outstanding communication skills—can translate technical findings into clear business recommendations
- Self-starter mentality with high ownership and willingness to do whatever it takes
- Comfort with fast-paced startup environment and ability to context-switch between projects
- Experience with data engineering, ETL processes, or database management
- Experience with visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar)
- Background in consulting, finance, tech, or high-growth startups
- Experience with GIS, geospatial data, or construction/infrastructure industries
- Internship or project experience demonstrating quantitative impact
- High-impact role with direct exposure to leadership and strategic decisions
