About You
You are a builder at heart — curious, pragmatic, and motivated to solve hard technical problems that matter. You thrive in early-stage startup environments where speed, ownership, and adaptability are critical. You don’t just go along for the ride — you act as a driver, not a passenger, taking initiative and shaping outcomes rather than waiting for direction.
You love working across the stack, from designing intuitive user experiences to architecting robust backend systems, and you’re quick to learn new technologies when the problem demands it. You’re passionate about leveraging software and data to create meaningful impact, and you see the opportunity to contribute directly to decarbonization and enterprise transformation. You approach challenges with creativity, rigor, and a growth mindset, and you want to be part of a small team where your contributions have outsized influence.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our founding team. As one of our first engineering hires, you’ll help shape both our product and our engineering culture. This is a true full-stack role where you’ll build core product features, contribute to data infrastructure, and take ownership of systems from design through deployment.
You’ll collaborate closely with product and design, experiment rapidly, and help define best practices that will scale with us. With 2–3 days per week in our Boston office, you’ll be at the center of key technical and strategic decisions as we scale.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Stack Development
Design, build, and deploy end-to-end features across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
Ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability while balancing speed of delivery.
Data Engineering & Systems Design
Contribute to building robust data pipelines and integrations that power financial and emissions insights.
Collaborate on data modeling, ETL, and analytics foundations to support customer needs.
Startup Agility
Wear multiple hats and move quickly to meet customer and product demands.
Make pragmatic technical decisions while keeping long-term scalability in mind.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Product and Design to deliver features that solve real customer problems.
Partner with business teams to understand enterprise requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
You’ll Be a Great Fit If You…
Have 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Bring full-stack experience (e.g., React/TypeScript, Node.js, Python, or similar).
Have startup or early-stage experience and thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
Are excited about automating data engineering processes and already have experience with pipelines, ETL, and analytics systems.
Are quick to learn new technologies and approaches.
Are based in the Boston area and available for 2–3 in-office days per week.
Nice to Haves
Experience with dbt, DuckDB, or the modern data stack.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, DevOps, or infrastructure as code.
Background in sustainability, carbon accounting, or financial systems.

As such, we explicitly seek people that bring diverse life experiences, diverse educational backgrounds, diverse cultures, and diverse work experiences. Please be prepared to share with us how your perspective will bring something unique and valuable to our team.
