Clarasight is seeking an experienced Emissions Reduction Operations Manager - Travel to join our team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a former Travel Manager who has deep expertise in business travel data, policy management, and cross-functional collaboration. You will be embedded within a client’s travel team, responsible for leveraging Clarasight’s Carbon Planning & Intelligence platform to drive business travel emissions reduction strategies and ensure alignment with corporate sustainability goals.

About You

You are passionate about corporate sustainability, travel management, and emissions reduction and are committed to playing a key role in helping major enterprises reduce their business travel emissions, leveraging cutting-edge technology and best-in-class travel management expertise.

This role is a part time role (20 hours per week)

Must Haves

• 5+ years of experience in corporate travel management, travel procurement, or related roles.

• Strong expertise in business travel data, reporting, and analytics—comfortable working with travel data sets and deriving insights.

• Proven track record of implementing travel policies and programs in large organizations.

• Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and influence key stakeholders across departments.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and educate stakeholders at all levels.

Nice to Haves

• Knowledge of sustainable travel best practices, carbon emissions measurement methodologies, and sustainability frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, SBTi).

• Experience working with travel management companies (TMCs), sustainability teams, or travel suppliers on emissions reduction initiatives.

• Familiarity with sustainability reporting requirements and regulatory developments related to corporate travel emissions.

• Prior experience with sustainability-focused travel platforms or emissions reduction software.

• Experience working in high growth startups

Responsibilities

• Travel Emissions Reduction Strategy & Execution

  • Own and drive business travel emissions reduction initiatives within the client’s travel program.

  • Analyze travel data to identify opportunities for emission reductions while balancing cost, convenience, and business needs.

  • Develop and implement policies, tools, and best practices that align with the client’s sustainability goals.

  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of emissions reduction initiatives and report progress to key stakeholders.

• Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the client’s travel, finance, sustainability, and procurement teams to align travel policies with emissions reduction objectives.

  • Collaborate with travel suppliers, TMCs, and technology providers to integrate sustainable travel solutions.

  • Support employee engagement and change management efforts to encourage sustainable travel behaviors.

• Data & Insights

  • Leverage Clarasight’s platform to provide actionable insights on travel emissions and drive informed decision-making.

  • Identify key travel emissions trends, benchmarks, and areas for improvement.

  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
