About the Role

We’re looking for a first sales hire to bring CO280’s BioDAC CDR to more companies. The CDR market is at a turning point: large companies are beginning to source CDR at-scale for 2030 goals, and global policy is favoring CDR market growth. You’ll do whatever it takes to get more companies to purchase BioDAC and help them achieve their net zero goals successfully. As our first sales hire, you’ll shape CO280’s pipeline, help build the sales playbook, close crucial deals, and help us build a top-notch team.

You’ll work directly with our Chief Commercial Officer along with cross-functional partners like Business Development, Marketing, Project Development, Legal and Finance.

About the Company

CO280 is a leading developer of carbon removal projects with more than 10 megatons per year of permanent CDR under development. We are addressing a critical supply gap in the carbon removal market by creating the world’s first permanent, verifiable, and affordable CDR solution at scale. The projects we’re developing are the lowest cost, permanently sequestered carbon removal projects in the world. CO280 partners with market-leading pulp and paper companies to capture and store biogenic CO2 and sell the Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) credits to customers in the voluntary carbon market. We call this BioDAC. We are a world-class team with deep climate tech, clean tech, and energy project experience.

Our Headquarters are in Vancouver, BC, and we have remote team members across the US.


  • Sell CDR. You’ll find the right people at Fortune 500 companies, educate them about CDR, and help them close their net zero “last mile” gap. You’ll own the full customer cycle, from first outbound to contract signature and beyond.

  • Help build on the existing CO280 sales process: Who are the right people to build relationships with? What messaging resonates best? How do we remove friction from the sales cycle? How to do we scale-up sales by creating new partnerships and strategic accounts?

  • Develop, write, and present spectacular proposals in-person or online.

  • Become an expert in the field and a trusted advisor to educate companies on how they should navigate the world of net zero targets and carbon removal.

  • Shape CO280’s MRV strategy by acting as the voice of the customer on the front line.

  • Help build the sales team.

  • Represent CO280 at events.


  • 5+ years of relevant quota carrying experience and a track record of sales excellence. Proven track record of negotiating complex deals, preferably involving 1+ year selling CDR or other carbon solutions.

  • Relationships are your superpower! You are a skillful networker, capable of building strong relationships.

  • You are scientifically oriented. You have the ability to interpret white papers and primary research, including GHG reporting scopes, LCA, and carbon methodologies.

  • You are collaborative and consultative – you listen to customers and colleagues and work with them to solve problems.

  • Have experience opening a new territory and prospecting new business.

  • Existing relationships with decision-makers in corporate sustainability offices and at carbon trading desks is highly desirable.

  • You’re an excellent writer, presenter + empathetic communicator.

  • You are solutions oriented – you can find your way out of problems through collaboration creative thinking.

  • You’re excited to join a startup, be resourceful, and move fast.

  • Available for minimum 25% travel.
