About The Role

CGC is seeking a Manager, Product Development to support the design, development, and deployment of innovative clean energy and sustainable infrastructure solutions. This role focuses on building decarbonization, on-site solar, distributed energy resources (DERs), energy efficiency, electrification, and related financing tools that accelerate clean energy adoption in the built environment.

The Manager will help drive the full product lifecycle from market discovery and concept development through pilot implementation, launch, and continuous improvement ensuring CGC’s solutions are scalable, replicable, and aligned with the organization’s equity- and impact-driven mission. This is an ideal role for a mission-driven professional with strong clean energy or sustainability expertise who thrives in a collaborative environment and is excited about turning innovative ideas into real-world programs that transform markets.

The Manager reports to the Head of Product Development and works closely with teams across Market Development, Engineering, Policy, Communications, and Capital Deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Design

  • Support the development of CGC’s clean energy and building-focused product roadmap, including solar, building decarbonization, and distributed energy initiatives.
  • Conduct market research and stakeholder engagement with building owners, contractors, implementers, and financial partners.
  • Translate strategic concepts into program designs, eligibility criteria, operational workflows, and economic models.
  • Develop business cases and go-to-market strategies for new products and initiatives.

Pilot Management & Product Validation

  • Lead operational coordination of pilot programs and demonstration projects, including partner engagement, milestone tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Evaluate pilot performance data and develop recommendations for product refinement and scale.
  • Support testing and iteration of new clean energy solutions in real-world market conditions.

Cross-Functional Execution

  • Coordinate with teams across engineering, operations, policy, communications, and finance to ensure aligned product development and implementation.
  • Support product launch readiness, including partner onboarding materials, internal training, and operational documentation.
  • Ensure effective collaboration across internal teams and external partners.

Continuous Improvement & Market Monitoring

  • Monitor product performance, market developments, and policy trends affecting building decarbonization and distributed energy markets.
  • Identify risks, operational bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure CGC’s products align with core principles of equity, additionality, scalability, and operational feasibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience in clean energy, sustainable infrastructure, building decarbonization, energy efficiency, distributed energy resources, or product/program development in related sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of clean energy solutions in the built environment, including energy efficiency, electrification, or solar.
  • Experience managing projects or programs involving multiple stakeholders, including technical, financial, and policy partners.
  • Familiarity with clean energy economics, project development, or financing structures is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using program management and operational tools such as Jira, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to translate complex technical and policy concepts into practical program implementation plans.
  • Experience with on-site solar or solar program design is a plus but not required.

Compensation And Benefits

  • The salary range for the position is between $117,715– $132,549 annually.
  • The Manager will be eligible for an annual bonus based on job and organizational performance.
  • Benefits for this role include health insurance, a 401(k)-retirement plan, paid vacation, and sick leave.
