Location: New York metropolitan area, remote okay.
About CowBell Labs:
CowBell Labs works towards a liveable planet with sustainable production of food. Agricultural emissions of the greenhouse gasses methane and nitrous oxide are responsible for over 25% of current global warming. However, access to measurement technology blocks climate solution development and building trust they work. CowBell Labs develops new greenhouse gas measurement technologies and open-access physical and computational tools to test them. Incubated by Spark Climate Solutions, CowBell Labs is supported philanthropically by Schmidt Futures, the Lyda Hill Foundation, and Convergent Research.
Role Overview: We seek a climate-impact motivated Head of Partnerships and Impact who will work day-to-day as CowBell Labs' most senior operating team member. In this role, you will help build the organization from the ground up and develop its key external relationships and user community. You will own the voice of the user, ensuring that CowBell’s solutions gain traction with our user community across the private and public sectors. You will help align CowBell Labs’ work with related efforts of governments and NGOs. This is an opportunity to be the face of a rapidly growing climate innovation organization across commercial and non-governmental sectors, with the potential to enable massive reductions in global greenhouse gas emissions.
Responsibilities:
- Own all aspects of creating impact and external adoption of CowBell Lab’s tools, including partnerships, operations, and impact strategy. Some key milestones early on will include:
- Source and sustain key technical partnerships that further CowBell Labs' program, while representing these external viewpoints in internal strategic discussions.
- Drive development of a user community for CowBell Lab’s tools, including ownership of strategic communications, and government & international development relations.
- Build and lead a high-performing team of up to 3 product and partner managers, plus contractors, to deliver on our vision.
- Guide internal team efforts through strategic and financial prioritization
- Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the organization.
- Identify and develop funding and collaboration opportunities for CowBell Labs, and lead strategic planning and visioning activities, ensuring that the plans for external partnerships align with the overall goals of CowBell Labs
- A strong candidate who can operate at the C-level will additionally:
- Build and lead a thriving non-profit organization that maximizes the climate and social impact of CowBell Labs technology.
- Decide how we position ourselves externally.
- Expand the programs ambitions and help source funding for those new goals.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in partnership development, particularly in fostering collaborations and initiatives without having hierarchical authority over collaborators.
- Proven track record in working with technical research or development teams.
- Proven ability to adapt and bring organization to a fast-paced environment, such as a startup or a small team. Entrepreneurial experience is a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to visit partners and, if remote, the internal team.
Preferred Requirements
- Prior experience in livestock management, crop cultivation, international development, and/or government relations.
