About This Role:

Crusoe Energy is seeking a Project Engineer, Mechanical to contribute to the safe, efficient, and reliable deployment of our on-site power generation systems supporting mission-critical data centers. This early-to-mid-level full-time role within the Project Engineering team directly impacts our mission to align the long-term interests of the climate with the future of global computing infrastructure. You will be instrumental in the full project lifecycle, from equipment specification and working with engineering contractors to on-site support and technical problem-solving. We are looking for an individual with a mechanical background and experience in power generation projects who can ensure that all mechanical components integrate seamlessly to form a cohesive system. This role offers significant growth opportunities within a fast-paced and innovative environment.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • System Integration: Ensure all mechanical components and multi-disciplinary elements work together cohesively as a fully integrated system.

  • Equipment Specification: Play a key role in specifying all major equipment for power generation projects.

  • Contractor Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with engineering contractors to manage equipment layout and design.

  • Vendor Management: Work directly with equipment vendors to ensure successful project delivery.

  • On-Site Technical Support: Provide essential technical support on project sites, including answering Requests for Information (RFIs) and addressing technical questions as they arise.

  • Cross-Disciplinary Communication: Facilitate clear and effective communication across all engineering disciplines to ensure project alignment.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Project Engineering Experience: At least 3 years of experience in power generation project engineering, preferably on large-scale projects.

  • Mechanical Expertise: Strong mechanical or multi-disciplinary experience, with a preference for a mechanical degree or background.

  • Instrumentation & Controls Acumen: High-level experience with instrumentation and controls, demonstrating technical proficiency.

  • Project Team Collaboration: Proven experience working effectively within project teams.

  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel to project sites (e.g., Abilene, Amarillo) approximately 33% of the time, with occasional flexibility for quick notice travel.

Bonus Points:

  • Turbine Generator Experience: Experience with turbine generators, particularly GE or Solar models.

  • Equipment Packager Experience: Prior experience with equipment packagers.

  • Oil & Gas Experience: Background in the oil & gas industry, which is transferable to this role.

  • Large-Scale Project Exposure: Experience with projects valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars or involving 500+ kilowatts.

Compensation:

Compensation will be paid in the range of $115,000 - $135,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
