About This Role:

As the Senior Production Manager at Crusoe, you will play a pivotal role in leading all aspects of production across a dynamic, custom design/build manufacturing organization. You will operate in a bespoke environment where every project is uniquely designed to meet client specifications, ensuring the seamless execution of manufacturing processes. This role requires you to direct department managers, leveraging advanced Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. We are looking for an experienced, strategic leader with a proven track record of driving operational excellence and scaling production in a custom-centric environment. This is a full-time position. What You'll Be Working On

  • Production Oversight & Strategic Planning: Direct all aspects of production, from metal processing and fabrication to paint and electrical work. You will establish and implement production plans that are finely tuned to project specifications and aligned with overarching organizational goals.
  • Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence: Champion Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across the entire production floor. You will partner with executive leadership to develop and enforce company-wide standard operating procedures and processes.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Lead collaborations with Project Managers, Scheduling, Sales, and Engineering teams to ensure seamless project alignment and delivery from initial design through final production.
  • Team Leadership & Talent Development: Provide decisive leadership, guidance, and mentorship to department managers and team members. You will conduct performance evaluations, support professional development, and build a high-performing culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Strategic Resource & Financial Management: Efficiently manage space utilization within the manufacturing facility and optimize production capabilities for custom projects. You will evaluate machine resources to minimize downtime and enhance production capacity, while establishing a balance between increased productivity and reduced manufacturing costs.
  • Productivity Goals & Metrics: Set ambitious productivity goals for each manufacturing team and ensure their alignment with overall company objectives. You will also be responsible for tracking key production metrics and reporting on performance to executive leadership.


What You'll Bring To The Team

  • Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. You will have a minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in production management within a design/build manufacturing environment, with at least 4+ years in a management role.
  • Leadership and Communication: Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team in a dynamic, custom-centric environment.
  • Technical Expertise: Expertise in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, with a track record of successful implementation. You will have a profound understanding of build to order / configure to order and final assembly of complex products. Experience manufacturing power distribution equipment and switchgear is a plus.
  • Compliance Expertise: A deep familiarity with ISO 9001, UL 508A / UL 891 / UL 1008, NEMA, and NEC compliance standards, and the ability to implement and enforce these standards across the production organization.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in project management software, ERP systems (e.g., Acumatica, SAP, Oracle, etc.), Smartsheets, and Google's software suite.

Bonus Points

  • A Master's degree in Engineering or Business.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with multi-site production management.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced "start-up" or "greenfield" manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with advanced production forecasting and capacity planning tools.

Compensation

Compensation will be paid in the range of $124,000 - $150,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
