About This Role:

Crusoe is on a mission to align the future of computing with the future of the climate. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Indirect Tax, you will play a key role in the accounting team assisting with indirect tax compliance, planning, and strategy. This is a high-impact position that sits at the intersection of tax technology and climate-friendly infrastructure, helping Crusoe navigate complex tax landscapes as we scale our global footprint.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Compliance Management: Assist with indirect tax compliance across multiple domains, including Sales and Use tax, VAT, and Property tax.

  • Research & Incentives: Research and prepare indirect tax incentives and credits for various jurisdictions and large-scale projects.

  • Audit Defense: Support indirect tax audits and manage refund claims to ensure financial accuracy and recovery.

  • Transaction Support: Assist with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and various strategic transactions as needed.

  • Tax Technology Transformation: Play a pivotal role in technology projects, including establishing tax-related software requirements, testing, and documentation.

  • Strategic Projects: Support ad-hoc tasks and special projects as requested by the Senior Manager to drive department efficiency.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; a Master’s in Accounting or Tax is highly preferred.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of indirect tax experience within a large public accounting firm or corporate organization. Experience in the construction or technology industries is a significant advantage.

  • Licensure: CPA license (or actively seeking a CPA license) is preferred.

  • Technical Proficiency: Keen attention to detail with high comfort levels in tax software and advanced Microsoft Excel functions.

  • Professional Attributes: A self-starter with a natural curiosity to learn different types of tax and the motivation to drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

  • Safety and Compliance: This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with automated tax engines (e.g., Vertex, Avalara, or OneSource).

  • Prior exposure to international VAT/GST requirements for cloud or digital services.

  • Experience with ERP implementation and tax-sensitization of financial data.

Compensation Range

Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $86,000 -$105,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
