Rob Parker serves as Chief Commercial Officer and brings 20+ years of experience in the power industry, most recently serving as CFO at REV Renewables. Since its launch in 2023, Crux has raised $27 million in funding from venture capital and strategic investors and built a world-class team that merges expertise from energy, finance, government, and technology to power the clean energy transition.
Who we’re looking for
We are adding a Principal to our Markets & Transactions team to rapidly scale the network of developers and buyers, and execute more transactions. This is the team that scales our relationships with renewables developers and tax credit buyers.

What you do
- Generate new buyer leads through conferences, networking, outreach, and other creative methods, often working closely with Marketing and Growth teams
- Establish credibility and cultivate, close and expand partnerships with key senior leaders at corporate buyers, family offices, fund families, buyer advisors (accounting and tax firms, boutique banks, etc), and syndicators
- Own a book of business and customers, be responsible for meeting target outcomes
- Educate buyers on the critical role of the Crux ecosystem in tax credit transactions and demonstrate how to use Crux to achieve better outcomes (lower cost, see more opportunities, less admin burden, etc)
- Serve as a facilitative partner and provide white glove service to buyers throughout the transaction lifecycle, including educating buyers on risks and mitigants, and getting ahead of transaction issues
Expectations
- Build strong relationships with buyers and buyer advisors to encourage them to join the Crux ecosystem
- Inform product development with user insights and subject matter expertise
- Problem solve and overcome buyer objections to get them to onboard to the Crux platform
- Bring key commercial issues with buyers, advisor, and intermediaries to team members, and effectively and quickly each resolution
- Understand Crux platform, buyer sales process, transaction flow, pricing, and commercial agreements
- Serve as an expert resource to buyers on all aspects of tax credit transactions, as well as leverage internal and external subject matter experts
- Operate with autonomy, quickly surface issues, research and propose solutions
- Maintain your customer data in product and other internal tools
- Discuss complicated topics with clarity and accuracy
- Strong collaborative and team orientation
Who you are
- 7+ years of experience:
- Selling tax-related financial products to corporates and family offices; or
- Advising on tax credit accounting methods and transactions; or.
- Having played a leading role in structured origination and/or distribution of financial products, especially tax credits or tax equity
- Energy tax credit knowledge is a plus, but candidates with strong knowledge and experience selling other types of tax credits (state and local film/historics, LIHTC, NMTC, etc) or products are encouraged to apply.
- Comfortable and confident with cold outreach, conference participation and public speaking
- Unrivaled relationship building skills; you build trust quickly and communicate clearly
- Adaptable and excited about building at the early stage. You’re not afraid to roll-up your sleeves and build things yourself.
- Contribute to and help build team culture, in ways that are authentic to you
