Partnerships Associate
Crux
We make clean energy finance more efficient and interconnected.
Energy demand is rising for the first time in decades, driving an urgent need for more infrastructure to deliver affordable and reliable electricity. New infrastructure requires strong and secure domestic supply chains for minerals and components, as well as large amounts of capital. Connecting to the necessary financing at each stage of a project lifecycle can present challenges for developers and manufacturers, however.
Crux is the capital markets platform changing the way clean energy and manufacturing projects are financed in the U.S. Our first offering is the leading platform for the large and rapidly growing market of energy and manufacturing tax credits. For the first time, these credits are transferable, creating a powerful new market mechanism to drive abundant clean energy and a strong domestic supply chain. Since its founding in 2023, Crux has facilitated billions of dollars in transferable tax credit transactions.
Our team of 30+ is composed of experts in energy, financial markets, government, marketplaces, and workflow software. We have raised ~$27 million from some of the best investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Lowercarbon Capital, New System Ventures, Overture, Ardent Venture Partners, QED, Canapi, and others. These funds are joined by strategic investors including Pattern Energy, Clearway Energy, EDF Renewables, Intersect Power, LS Power, Orsted, Hartree Partners, and others who collectively generate billions of dollars of tax credits annually.
Clean energy finance by the numbers:
160% increase in power demand from data centers by 2030, according to Goldman Sachs
95% of the increase in global power capacity through 2026 will be clean energy, according to the IEA
$500B+ estimated credits to be monetized through 2030, according to Credit Suisse
We are hiring our founding Partnerships Associate to help build a powerful Partnerships function. Today, the Partnerships team is focused on strengthening and expanding our strategic channel partner relationships. Crux’s channel partners include leading accounting and tax firms, top-tier law firms, and other key players in the clean economy.
The founding Partnerships Associate will play a critical role in scaling the program by driving the following initiatives:
What you’ll do:
Lead playbook execution — and refinement — for priority partners across core personas, owning relationships with key partners over time.
Develop scalable, programmatic approaches for partner engagement to expand our reach.
Contribute to deepening partner relationships by supporting follow-ups and coordination for partner events, initiatives, and meetings.
Execute landscape analyses to identify opportunity areas and new partners as we expand Crux’s product suite, with a focus on early capital markets solutions.
Collaborate with Events Lead to execute successful partner events, from scoping through follow-up.
In collaboration with Marketing Operations, support operational implementation for Crux’s partnership program, including data and reporting infrastructure.
What impact your work will have:
Double the volume of qualified leads from existing channel partners within 6 months by driving creative, effective partner activation strategies in collaboration with Growth teammates.
Collaborate with Events Lead and other Growth team members to execute successful partner events that enhance Crux’s brand and generate new leads.
Work with Marketing Operations to ensure accurate, reliable Partnerships reporting to measure program success and individual partner performance.
Who you are:
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong, detail-oriented generalist interested in Partnerships or Go-to-Market strategy.
While a successful candidate could take many forms, you likely have 3-5 years of experience in management consulting, finance, or business development at another high-growth technology start-up.
Strong organization and attention to detail are essential for success, plus strong communications skills.
Curiosity and genuine interest in collaborating on a variety of projects that will scale an early partnerships program — from running activation experiments to conducting market landscape analyses, to event planning.
Comfort with ambiguity and fast-paced environment of a high-growth, early stage company.
Highly collaborative team-player who enjoys cross-functional collaboration.
Experience in B2B marketplace start-ups, enterprise sales, or clean economy is a plus.
What we bring:
$27m raised from top investors like Andreessen Horowitz, Lowercarbon Capital, New System Ventures, Overture, Ardent Venture Partners, QED, Canapi, and others.
Fully remote in US or Canada with opportunities to co-work in SF, Seattle, DC, or NYC.
Fully covered Health, Vision, and Dental insurance.
Competitive base compensation with equity. Compensation is dependent on leveling, established using market comps, and flexible should the role be up/down -leveled.
Our values: Care for each other, build & improve rapidly, focus unremittingly on our customers, demonstrate ownership, and convene a team that reflects the breadth of experiences in the country.
