dcbel Inc. (www.dcbel.energy) is a growing company operating in multiple countries striving to develop technology and design products that will make clean, efficient and sustainable energy accessible to all — because everyone in the world deserves energy without compromise.

Our flagship product, the dcbel Ara home energy station, is a wall mounted device that gives everyone ownership over their energy supply by using solar power to charge their EV and home, unlocking their EV’s battery for backup power (V2H), and optimizing the energy flow between their solar panels, EVs, backup battery and the grid.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Inventory Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the required stocking, movement and analysis of dcbel’s materials requirements, and inventory levels across warehouses. Dcbel operates a network of dcbel and partner-owned manufacturing and warehouse locations.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years inventory management working with, or in, a contract manufacturing supply chain. He/she should be motivated to join a young, fast-growing Montreal-based team, a leader, used to working a fast moving, cross-functional team environment, be extremely analytical, process-focused and detail-oriented.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Occupy the role of Inventory Manager at dcbel.
  • Ensure all materials are available and ready, where they need to be, to meet the production plan.
  • Document all required materials movement between suppliers, warehouses and production facilities.
  • Execute plan for cycle counting, material handling, part numbering, labeling and stocking for all locations.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving all materials quality or supply issues with both internal and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Participate as need in the annual inventory audit, and support any additional finance or manufacturing-related needs.
  • Provide inventory reports as required, regarding materials counts, movement, delivery, and quality issues.
  • Participate in and feed the quarterly product cost evaluation and roll-up process.
  • Ensure all warehouse and materials stockroom locations are clean, organized and all dcbel consigned/owned materials are properly accounted for at all times.
  • Identify materials management areas for improvement, determine root cause and implement and document any required corrective/preventative actions.
  • Coordinate with other key stakeholders, the set-up and linking of relevant and required systems, processes, partnerships to ensure proper management of dcbel products and materials, at NPI and production sites.
  • Identify all excess and obsolete parts and assist in efforts to mitigate materials no longer required for future production.
  • Assist Engineering in identifying and addressing all issues of BOM part selection, life cycle analysis, AVL breadth and risk mitigation are identified and addressed.
  • Ensure ERP and Finance systems properly reflect accurate materials counts and costing.

Demonstrated Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Previous working experience in inventory management in manufacturing and distribution.
  • Experience in materials planning in a manufacturing and distribution network with multiple production, distribution, and repair locations.
  • Experience in developing, defining and implementing materials management procedures
  • Experience in participating in DFx assessments and addressing suggested supplier selection and materials management improvements with R&D, engineering, supply chain and manufacturing departments
  • Extremely data-driven and analytical mindset
