Our flagship product, the dcbel Home Energy Station, is a small wall mounted device that gives everyone ownership over their energy supply by using solar power to charge their EV and home, unlocking their EV’s battery for backup power (V2H), and optimizing the energy flow between their solar panels, EVs, backup battery and the grid.

The opportunity

dcbel is looking to hire a test technician to work in our growing team. We are searching for a candidate with prior experience related assemble, test, or maintain circuitry and electro-mechanical systems, according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, or knowledge of electronics, using hand or power tools.

Main responsibilities

  • Assemble, test, or maintain circuitry and electro-mechanical systems, according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, or knowledge of electronics, using hand or power tools.
  • Execute test plans following the engineer’s directives.
  • Replace defective components or parts, using hand tools, precision instruments and the soldering station.
  • Modify, maintain, or repair electronic equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronics units and electro-mechanical systems, applying knowledge of theory and components.
  • Set up and operate specialized or standard test equipment to diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of electronic components, assemblies, or systems.
  • Research equipment or component needs, sources, competitive prices, delivery times, or ongoing operational costs.
  • Procure parts and maintain inventory and related documentation.
  • Provide user applications, engineering support, or recommendations for new or existing equipment for installation, upgrades, or enhancements.
  • Maintain system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment.
  • Write reports or record data on testing techniques, laboratory equipment, or specifications to assist engineers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance or calibration of equipment or systems.

Key requirements

  • College Diploma or higher in Electronics or related field.
  • .At least 3 years’ experience using electrical and mechanical equipment in a technical laboratory.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.

Bonus skills

  • Bilingual English and French written and spoken.
