The Opportunity
dcbel is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Test Software Engineer to develop, implement, and continually improve an exhaustive manufacturing test strategy for our product line. The successful candidate will interface with hardware, software, and firmware engineering teams to solve problems, improve designs, and ensure that production equipment meets stringent time and quality demands. Main Responsibilities
- Design, validate, implement & automate high quality testing solutions for home energy stations, involving electronics, power, and electrical safety.
- Establish production testing specifications for feasibility and scalability; hold periodic test review meetings with project teams and create required documents and test reports.
- Provide high-reactivity support to production to resolve test equipment/script failures; collaborate with manufacturing/quality engineers on resolving complex production issues.
- Develop, debug, implement and support test scripts to automate production functional tests.
- Integrate data acquisition/dashboarding/test commands with dcbel tools and databases.
- Ensure test data is collected and maintained systematically for further analysis in a welldefined database platform.
- Specify testing equipment and define regular maintenance/calibration schedule in collaboration with manufacturing engineering and automation.
- Hands-on skills to design, build, and bring up test benches is an asset.
Key Requirements
- Degree in software engineering, electrical engineering, or relevant field.
- Be legally authorized to work as an Engineer or is eligible to be registered as an Engineer in Québec, or has an equivalent of an Engineering license recognized by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience as a hands-on Manufacturing Software Engineer or in a similar role that involves electronics.
- Experience with coding in LabVIEW, Python, and C/C++.
- Experience in developing test sequences and software tools like NI TestStand.
- Experience implementing automated tests, developing UI, and integrating hardware components.
- Experience with DAQ (data acquisition systems), Signal Processing, and instrumentation.
- Great troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
