Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.
We are looking for a multifaceted hands-on Manufacturing/Industrial/Process Engineer to work with various engineering teams and production technicians to improve our existing backend processes in the areas of improving stone quality, increasing throughput/reducing cost, and minimizing human intervention. The position requires a significant portion of time spent on the floor, being hands-on with the process as well as working next to the floor technicians. A successful individual can collect data, develop conclusions, and publish reports. Finally, it requires working closely with other departments as well as being a sole contributor.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Recommend/evaluate/implement opportunities for continuous process and product improvement and lead "Lean Manufacturing" initiatives to improve production rates, reduce cost, and improve quality of output.
  • Provide manufacturing input to new and existing processses (design for manufacturability); follow escalation process if design for manufacturability is at risk.
  • Work with the software developers to create reports and online visualizations for engineers and managements as well as analyzing operational data and production metrics. Develop models to predict quarterly output and understand out capacity constraints.
  • Support EHS activities and initiatives to comply with safety regulations and conduct root cause dailure analysis and corrective action.

Requirements:

  • BS or higher in an applicable STEM field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a manufacturing or process engineer in a manufacturing environment with experience in root cause analysis including tools such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagrams, and Cause/Effect analysis as well as formal problem-solving with A3 or 8D.
  • Experience using and updating a MES system (Critical Manufacturing MES is a plus).
  • The following is a plus: Proficient with JMP and writing SQL queries, quality-related experience, and technical documentation writing experience.
