We are looking for a Cost Accountant who is detail-oriented, organized, and excited about improving business processes. This role will be responsible for the company's overall production cost, which involves the ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, margin analysis, and tracking costs back to underlying activities. Responsibilities will include defining and maintaining cost accounting, meeting deadlines for processing information, and answering questions related to costing, and financial reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the accurate cost allocation to production in the manufacturing facility. Ensure COGS are reconciled on a monthly basis.
- Possess the ability to analyze costs and trends, and the potential impact on the Company’s gross margin performance.
- Must possess the willingness and ability to collaborate cross-functionally regularly.
- Perform various monthly analyses related to utility costs and inventory of production items.
- Must possess the ability to work independently with no continuous supervision, and consistently support our finance team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or economics and business sciences is required plus 2-3 years of past work experience in accounting, cost management, budgets, forecasts, or detailed financial analysis.
- Knowledge of IFRS, USGAAP or PGE, accounting principles, internal controls, financial reporting, and MS Office, especially MS Excel
- Not required but valuable experience working with Netsuite before.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Understands the team concept and has a strong desire to be a contributing teammate
- Written and verbal communication in English is a must.
