What you will do:

The Senior Procurement Engineer will primarily support the design, development, and execution of procurement operations processes, policies, and procedures with a focus on quality and strategic scale up. Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for executing requests for quotations and information, placing purchase orders, and managing key suppliers in support of relevant Key Performance Indicators and continuous improvement initiatives within the Supply Chain
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies, best practices, and initiatives that support improvements in supplier quality, total cost effectiveness, delivery, lead times, risk compliance, ESG and other areas as identified
  • Develop and lead the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including developing SOPs for selection criteria and drives the selection of suppliers in collaboration with a cross-functional teams
  • Identify potential risks within the supply chain and develop risk mitigation strategies
  • Lead and conduct supplier development and improvement projects, and proactively participates in problem resolution (NCRs, SCARs, delivery issues, etc.) and supplier risk analysis
  • Conduct risk assessments for critical suppliers, materials, and components to ensure continuity of supply and product quality
  • Actively participate in tendering processes, compare quotes strategically, and work with Supply Chain Management and the Leadership teams to determine best sources for each project, part, and/or service
  • Responsible for the designing and creation of internal procurement SOPs and policies that ensure compliance with financial, legal, and ethical requirements
  • Report on Procurement activities on a regular basis to Supply Chain Management and the Leadership teams, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the relevant Key Performance Indicators and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist Quality and Procurement teams with supplier compliance requirement activities
  • Other duties as assigned

What we need you to bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study in engineering or quality management; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • 5 years of experience in quality management role in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Quality System Standards experience (9001, 13485, IATF16949, AS9100, 21 CFR 820, 14 CFR – any subsection)
  • Solid understanding and application of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups
  • The ability to manage and adapt to multiple and/or changing projects simultaneously and possess the ability to thrive in a continuous improvement environment
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn, Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Compensation:

  • The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
