What you will do:
This position performs Engineering Management responsibilities on EPFC/CM projects and leads FEL-1 studies for the first commercial plant and subsequent projects. This position is responsible for job duties and functions as listed below with the overall objective of establishing an engineering execution framework that complies with the contract and ensures the safety, quality, budget, and timeliness of the completed project. This position reports functionally to the VP of Projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Assure process safety and safety in design during project execution consistent with schedule and contractual requirements while maintaining bottom line responsibility for Electra’s success.
- Provide technical assurance and responsible and accountable for the performance of the engineering team, and the engineering execution to support delivery as per the project baseline.
- Lead development of the Engineering component of overall project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects.
- Liaise with the execution contractor and lead the development of the Project Execution Strategy for all engineering functions.
- Manage the interfaces between the execution contractor, engineering disciplines, internal external stakeholders, project director, project controls manager by understanding the discipline work processes and looking ahead to identify critical busts and/ or activities that need to be completed to support the execution.
- Responsible for managing delivery and quality of all engineering deliverables.
- Implementation of formal safety reviews such as HAZOP, LOPA. 3D plant model development and constructability.
- Ensuring technical compliance with Project/Industry Codes and Standards.
- Responsible along with Project Director to manage MOC process.
- Responsible for providing engineering support during construction, commissioning and startup and support RFI process.
- Review contractor’s rules of credit for engineering functions and measure progress.
- Leads document management process with the support from Document Controls Manager.
- Support permitting process.
- Safeguard the Company’s interests by mitigating risks.
What we need you to bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s or Advance Degree in Engineering
- Total twenty (20) years of experience out of which fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (EPFC/CM) project management preferably in oil & gas, chemicals or mining industries.
- 5 years in a leadership role
- Experience in multi-office execution.
- Good knowledge and experience on project design, engineering, procurement, material management, construction, commissioning, start up, turn over work processes, sequencing, and interfaces.
- Understanding of Project Controls and Finance including understanding of Scheduling (including work force loading), Progress measurement, Risk assessment and management, Code of accounts, Work breakdown structure, change management, Cost control, Estimating process and planning
- General understanding of contracts and when to engage legal team.
- Understanding of project funding.
- Experience of multiple commercial executions structures including Lumpsum / Reimbursable / Guaranteed Maximum price (Gmax) / Fixed Price.
- Proactive, goal orientated with the initiative to influence events positively, lead project team, and influence decision making process.
- Ability to resolve complex problems and to be comfortable in complex project environments.

Compensation:
- The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $ 200,000-$228,000 a year and may be more or less, depending on skills, experience, and education.
