Role:

As a test engineer, you will be responsible for qualification and acceptance test campaigns of our products, both in design and execution. You will be responsible for hardware-in-the-loop testbeds. If electrical systems misbehave in either test or production environments, you will take the lead on investigation and follow-up with design changes to address them. You will write software and design hardware and test frameworks to enable our test programs to scale as we move to high-volume manufacturing.

EV charging brings together challenges of reliability of complex, high-power electrical systems, software interfaces, interoperability, and extreme environmental loads in a single problem space.

Responsibilities:

• You will own end-to-end development and operation of the qualification and test campaigns for all existing and new variants of Electric Era’s products
• You will source requirements cross-functionally to produce optimal first principles designs and will present and defend those design decisions
• You will be directly responsible for one or more electrical systems in Electric Era’s products across the product lifecycle, including development, operation, and certification
• You will develop and maintain hardware elements of test software, test hardware, and continuous integration systems in production to achieve best-in-class operational functionality of Electric Era’s hardware
• You will collaborate with our external vendors and partner to ensure we can maintain our firmware and hardware interfaces and adequately test for regressions in our product line
• You will mentor and educate other engineers to continuously elevate the Electric Era engineering team’s technical acumen

Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Track record of delivering, operating, and maintaining test infrastructure for products involving hardware and external parties
• Track record of taking hardware products through qualification and test campaigns
• Experience in mission- and safety-critical test development for hardware
• Demonstrated track record showcasing end-to-end technical ownership of business-critical products through a production lifecycle
• Development experience in test software
• Capability to support operations at Electric Era charging station locations, after hours and on weekends as needed
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
