About the RoleWe are seeking a Principal, Capital Markets to lead the origination and execution of financing transactions to support the deployment of Electric Era’s fast-charging infrastructure. In this strategic role, you’ll work directly with institutional investors, lenders, and public financing partners to unlock capital at scale.
You’ll serve as the internal expert on project finance and capital markets, working cross-functionally to shape our go-to-market strategy, evolve our commercial model, and ensure our capital strategy is deeply aligned with enterprise retailer needs and demand. This role sits at the intersection of finance, infrastructure, and the energy transition—and is a unique opportunity to help define how EV charging is financed in the U.S. and beyond.
What You’ll DoCapital Markets Strategy & Execution
- Originate, negotiate, and close major financing transactions to support the deployment of Electric Era’s EV charging network.
- Develop and manage relationships with a wide range of capital providers—including infrastructure investors, green banks, and project finance lenders—tailoring capital solutions to meet the dynamic needs of the market.
- Lead the end-to-end execution process including financial analysis, investor engagement, diligence, and documentation.
Project Finance & Capital Market Expertise
- Serve as Electric Era’s subject matter expert on project finance and capital markets. Advise internal teams on capital strategy, deal structuring, risk management, and portfolio development.
- Collaborate closely with commercial and product teams to inform pricing, deployment, and go-to-market strategy. Translate project finance dynamics into actionable guidance for account team units.
Go-to-Market Collaboration
- Partner with direct sellers, account teams, and marketing to align capital availability with retail demand—bridging enterprise retailers demand with scalable capital solutions.
- Act as the connective tissue between capital partners and commercial growth, ensuring seamless integration of financing solutions within go-to-market motions and greater deployment strategy.
Modeling, Market Analysis & Insights
- Maintain and evolve internal models for project and portfolio-level economics, enabling clear visibility into capital needs, expected returns, and incentive structures.
- Track developments in energy and environmental markets (LCFS, RECs, ITC, etc.), credit trends, and capital market conditions to inform both transactional and strategic decisions.
- Share insights with executive leadership to guide planning, forecasting, and investor communications.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in a related field) preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in project finance, capital markets, or clean energy investment (solar, wind, EV infrastructure, or related sectors).
- Track record of leading complex capital transactions involving debt, equity, and public/private financing partners.
Skills & Competencies
- Deep fluency in financial modeling, project economics, and return analysis (NPV, IRR, DSCR, yield, tax benefits).
- Strong knowledge of clean energy incentive structures (e.g., Section 48/48E ITC, Depreciation, LCFS, carbon credits).
- Strategic thinker with a practical, execution-oriented mindset—able to connect capital market realities with commercial business goals.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging both institutional capital partners and cross-functional internal teams.
- Highly collaborative, able to operate at the intersection of finance, operations, and sales to drive integrated growth.
Total Compensation: $150,000.00 to $300,000 per year plus employee stock options
Working Location will primarily be in New York, NY, with travel to Seattle HQ as needed.
