Description

Element Energy is seeking a Director of Product Management to lead the development and execution of our product strategy, ensuring that our battery management technology delivers transformative impact to our customers and the industry. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in battery energy storage systems, battery management software, and grid-scale applications, combined with strong business acumen and a track record of bringing innovative products to market.

As a key leader within the organization, the Director of Product Management will collaborate closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and external stakeholders to define, develop, and launch cutting-edge solutions that address critical battery performance, safety, and longevity challenges. This role requires a product leader who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is passionate about accelerating the transition to clean energy.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive Element Energy’s product vision, strategy, and roadmap for battery management software and battery energy storage systems across grid storage, electric vehicles, and other key markets.
  • Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management, from ideation and requirements gathering to development, launch, and post-market optimization.
  • Develop deep customer and market insights by engaging with utilities, OEMs, battery manufacturers, and other stakeholders to understand pain points, emerging needs, and industry trends.
  • Translate technical capabilities into compelling product offerings that deliver clear customer value and competitive differentiation.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to define product requirements, prioritize features, and ensure successful product development and execution.
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and business development to craft go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and messaging that drive adoption and revenue growth.
  • Establish key performance metrics and analyze data to inform product decisions and measure success.
  • Serve as a thought leader and advocate for Element Energy’s technology in the industry through speaking engagements, customer presentations, and partnerships.
  • Stay ahead of industry regulations, competitive dynamics, and technological advancements to position Element Energy as a leader in battery management products.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, with a proven track record of leading successful product launches in energy storage, battery management, or related fields.
  • Deep understanding of battery technologies, BMS software, energy markets, and grid-scale applications.
  • Strong technical background, ideally with experience in software-driven energy solutions, IoT, or AI-powered analytics.
  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment, with the ability to thrive in ambiguity and drive results.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using data-driven insights to inform product decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA, MS, or PhD) is a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with large energy providers, battery manufacturers, or automotive OEMs.
  • Knowledge of regulatory policies and compliance requirements in energy storage and battery management.
  • Familiarity with machine learning applications in energy management.
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for clean technology and sustainability.
