Fulfillment Associate and Driver - Job Description

The Fulfillment Associate and Driver is responsible for delivering a quality customer experience through picking, packing, and delivering orders. This position reports directly to the Operations Leadership team, including the Operations Supervisor, Operations Manager, and the Director of Operations.

Farm Link Hawai‘i is a local food hub, online grocery store, brick-and-mortar marketplace, and more. Our mission is to transform local food production into a thriving industry and make good local food accessible to our whole community. We partner with over 300 Hawaiʻi farmers, ranchers, and food producers, providing inter-island supply-chain infrastructure to offer an excellent selection of local groceries to Oʻahu customers. Through our innovative online marketplace, we provide next-day delivery to households and food access partners across Oʻahu. Our retail location, Hōʻiliʻili Market & Deli, provides a wide array of local groceries plus freshly made meals, snacks, treats, and curated value-added products. Our core purpose is to make Hawai‘i prosperous, healthy, and resilient.

Essential Duties

• Efficiently and safely pick items for orders in various temperature climate-controlled areas, including refrigerated and frozen zones
• Review orders for quality, correct unit measurements, and missing/incorrect items to ensure customer satisfaction
• Adhere to packing standards to uphold product quality and integrity
• Pack items and load boxes onto delivery vehicles in a timely manner
• Exercise attention to detail by reviewing pick ticket screens, labels, manifests, and other tools for accuracy
• Operate delivery vehicles safely and in accordance with all transportation laws and company policies, maintaining a safe drive record
• Adhere to assigned route, including set departure and return times
• Provide excellent customer service
• Complete pre-departure, delivery, and post-delivery documentation and instructions
• Accurately distribute orders to third-party delivery partners and hub pick-ups
• Maintain clear, consistent, and proactive communication to Operations Leadership and Customer Advocate/Dispatch team
• Assist with opening and closing duties of warehouse
• Follow safety and sanitation protocols and practices and works to support a clean and safe work environment
• Demonstrate inter- and intra-departmental collaboration to meet company standards and goals
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Embody Farm Link Hawaiʻi’s core values of Integrity, Quality, and Partnership

• Adaptability and eagerness to experience new things
• Customer-service oriented
• Able to work both independently and in a team environment
• Comfortable working in cold environments (with PPE)
• Able to walk, drive, lift and carry heavy items (up to 40lbs) for extended periods
• Able to sit (driving) for up to but not exceeding 10 hours at a time
• Able to work in warehouse setting
• Passionate about building a more sustainable and equitable food system for Hawaiʻi

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience handling, inspecting, and/or producing produce, meats, and other food products
• Delivery driving experience
• Warehouse experience

Location

Due to the operational nature of the role, the work will be conducted in person at Farm Link’s warehouse located at 743 Waiakamilo Road in Kalihi.

Compensation

Compensation for this position ranges from $20-25 per hour, depending on prior experience.
