Team & Role Overview:
We’re looking for a motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to join First Street as a member of our sales team. You will be responsible for identifying and qualifying potential customers, partnering with Account Executives to build pipeline and drive revenue growth. You will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute on strategies to expand our market reach and drive our mission forward.
As a member of the sales team, you will be the first point of contact for potential customers, making this a critical role in our sales process. This position requires a passionate, urgent and positive individual who can communicate the importance of our mission and contribute to our growth.

Team & Role Overview:
We’re looking for a motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to join First Street as a member of our sales team. You will be responsible for identifying and qualifying potential customers, partnering with Account Executives to build pipeline and drive revenue growth. You will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute on strategies to expand our market reach and drive our mission forward.

What you’ll do:
- Lead Generation & Qualification
- Identify and research potential customers in priority verticals (including banks, asset owners, REITs, and asset managers) through various channels such as LinkedIn, industry events, and online resources
- Execute outbound lead generation through emails, calls, LinkedIn and industry events to engage prospects and schedule discovery meetings for Account Executives
- Triage and respond to inbound leads generated through our website, webinars or other events
- Qualify leads in an initial call / meeting and determine their potential fit and value to First Street
- Incorporate First Street’s press releases, national risk reports and case studies into outreach materials for priority customers
- Consistently achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly lead generation targets. (This is a quota-carrying sales role with a strong focus on qualified lead generation.)
- Account Executive Support
- Closely partner with Account Executives to develop and execute targeted research, outreach and sales strategies reflecting specific business needs and use cases for our target verticals and personas
- Conduct research on specific named accounts - to understand their climate needs, current initiatives, and key individuals and decision makers
- Identify and engage high-potential prospects beyond existing channels, uncovering new opportunities to drive business growth
- Customer Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all lead gen, qualification, and account executive activities, as well as your customer interactions in the CRM system (HubSpot)
- Interpret key performance metrics (emails sent, calls logged, meetings booked, conversion), highlight results to management and make beneficial adjustments. We want you spending time on the most impactful and productive activities - those that lead to meetings and ultimately ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue)
- Continuous Development
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and First Street’s product offerings to effectively communicate our value proposition
- Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and team-building activities to continuously improve sales skills and knowledge
- 1-3 years of experience in a business development or sales role, preferably in the financial services, technology or data industry
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence decision makers
- Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Self-motivated and driven, with a strong work ethic and desire to success in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Proficiency with CRM software and other sales tools
- Curiosity and willingness to learn about climate change and First Street’s product offerings
- Education minimum requirement - Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
- Experience in working with technology companies in the banking, asset owner or asset management verticals
- An analytical mindset with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical solutions
- A proven passion for making the world a better place through climate action
- Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales targets and KPIs
- Strong research skills and the ability to quickly gather and synthesize information about potential customers
